"My son built me an iron roofed house. However the house lacks strong pillars and it is prone to falling since the walls are rained on and the mud is gradually eroded. I wish to use the transfers in renovating it by reinforcing the walls with strong concrete pillars and plastering. This will cost approximately 30 000KES. I would also wish to buy four goats as my investment plan because we have land in abundance where I can easily tether the animals. For me to realize my plans, I will save 2000KES each month while the 1000KES will help me in buying food whenever my son fails to provide and also clothes."

"I dropped out of school when I was in class three due to lack of school fees. I have been looking after my father's goats since then without a clear picture of my future life. I wish I had skills which could help me in seeking employment. Currently I do not have a house and getting food is another challenge."

"The new year celebrations stand to be the most memorable moments to date. It was marked with slaughtering of two goats which were used to cook pilau. What amused me most is seeing my children adorned on new attires which made the youngest( 11months old by then) try to take a step for the first time since birth."

"Through access to good education, life success for my children is my dream. Quality education is obviously the necessary tool for cementing a strong foundation for any child. I have 4 children who are still in school and it is my responsibility to keep them in school. Due to financial constraints, raising their school in time is always a problem. I used to be a charcoal burner but I had to stop because of some health conditions. Since last year, my children have been in and out of school because of huge fee arrears. Their tuition fees have been pilling since last year when I quit charcoal burning. It will be very saddening to see them drop out of school and that is why I want to start livestock production. With 20,000 KES, I will purchase 8 goats. Livestock farming will be a continuous source of income in the future because the animals will keep on multiplying. Therefore, goat keeping will support my children's education through its income."

"Receiving this money means shelter for my family. Currently, I do not have a house I am seeking accommodation from my mother-in-law because my house falls off. This has been stressing me a lot. I will use KES 40000 to build a spacious two-bed house with an iron sheet roof that will accommodate my family of 6 children. I will also use KES 20000 to buy 2 beds and mattresses to avoid the cold floor. This will give me peace of mind. I have also desired to invest in livestock farming as a long-term project. I, therefore, intend to start with 10 goats which will cost me KES 30000."

"I have five children, four in primary school and one in secondary school. Their school uniforms are torn out and I feel ashamed when they go to school. I have school fees arrears and my children are the first people to be chased away every week they go to school. I will buy them new uniforms and clear the school fees left for the whole year. This will brings back the honor I had lost while their clothes were torn out. With the remaining amount, I will buy food and start rearing goats as a future investment."

"I have for so long depended on selling my livestock to get money. It is a kind of investment that I really like and I am yearning to do more . My plan is therefore to buy three goats with the first three transfers of 3,000 KES. My long term plan is selling some of the goats and buying a cow so that I can start rearing cattle as well."

"When I receive the first transfer, I will clear school fees arrears for my child amounting to 1,000 KES. I will then slowly start investing in goat rearing . Goats are of benefit because when they multiply, I will sell and settle some bills and educate my last born. One young goat costs between 2,500 KES and 3,000 KES."

"Receiving this money will help me achieve financial independence. At my age, depending on my parents makes me feel very uncomfortable. My plan therefore is to invest in goat and chicken rearing. I sit idle at home most of the time and this means that I am capable of overseeing this projects very well. A goat costs 3,000 KES while one chicken costs 500 KES. I will be buying more and more as I receive the transfers every month. In future when I get money from the sale of the livestock, I will repair my house, buy clothes and purchase a bed and a mattress."

"All I want for my children is to get education. This will help position them in the best way to fight poverty. I am really struggling to earn income because I did not get education and I would not like my children to go through such kind of life. This project will go a long way in helping me achieve this goal since I will be paying school fees using this money. Moreso, I would like to invest in their next phase of education, that is secondary school and college. This is because it is becomes more and more expensive as they proceed. The plan I have is investing in livestock farming. I will start with goat farming since it requires less capital compared to cattle farming. One goat goes for around 3,000 KES."
