"In my life, I have wished to own a chemistry shop for my husband to operate, in order to have a reliable source of income for the family. This aspiration has never come through because of financial challenges we currently face, something that has forced me to do Early Childhood Development teaching in contract basis so that I provide our basic needs . Despite my husband having knowledge on general medicine, he is yet to be employed and this has forced him to do contracts work which they have low lifespan. Receiving this money means meeting my life goal of starting the chemistry shop. This will transform our life for the better and hence, it is this change that what receiving this money means to me."

"I am aging and less energetic to actively participated in daily casual jobs in our area. I rely on farming for my daily household expenditure and family basic needs. My household daily expenditures had been too much for my source of income hence I could find myself most of the time spending everything I earn from farming leading to shortages and also growing debts in order to access other basic needs. I had been so worried about this and mostly my medication schedule which could not be observed since it could reach a time when I need medicine but have no money to spend on hence could forgo my medication and preserve the pain. I am currently so happy I prioritize my medication through assistance from GD hence I am certain that my health is improving and am soon going to be well. I currently have enough food in our family since I spend part of my transfer on my household food when we run short of our yields."

"When I started receiving these transfers, I was not in perfect health and it took GiveDirectly transfers to be able to seek for medical attention. My hands were aching most of the times and this could not allow me to perform heavy duties. Being a person that relies solely on casual labour, life was very difficult for me. I have since been able to seek medication and I am getting better each day. The kind of medicine that was prescribed to me is quite expensive and GiveDirectly transfers have always helped me meet the cost. I can now engage in any form of casual labour and this has made it easier for me to provide food for my family."
