"I have always wanted to own a better house ,an iron sheet roofed abode .As you can see I live in this grass thatched house .I cannot harvest clean water for drinking, I don't have a decent house to welcome visitors and church members when they come visiting, since I cook inside it emits alot of smoke,so it's not comfortable to stay inside . It has always been my desire to own a better house ,you could not have come at a better time like this,I am so excited. I intend to build a house of 22 iron sheets ,I will also buy timber .It will cost me approximately USD 520. The rest of the money will go towards purchasing a dairy cow,I will always be seeing and knowing that I used the money to purchase it and for the foreseeable future it will benefit me and my family"

"I am an old woman aged 76 and to make the situation worse I am sick and unable to do anything. My main challenge is to get safe drinking water because of the persistent drought that is often witnessed in this region. I plan to buy a big water tank of approximately 3000litres. This will cost me Ksh20000. Receiving this money will mean so much to me as it will solve my perennial water problem."

"The happiest part of my day is in the evening when I have completed the day's work. My job is hard. I have to graze the few animals I have together with those of my children on farms away from home. I usually struggle to find the feeds and even water for them. In the evening I rest having collected some money from selling milk. It makes me happy having my cows back in the compound after a day's hustle to graze them."

"Receiving this money would mean that I will own a good house. My ambition is to own a two roomed house with iron sheet roofing as this would help me harvest enough rain water for household consumption and also my four children will have enough safe space to sleep. I am a casual labourer and I only earn Ksh 300 per day when I get a job to do and this is not enough to cater for my family basic needs such as good food, education and clothing.Building the house would cost me a total of 30,000. I also want to buy a dairy cow of Ksh 30,000 which would produce enough milk for my children to drink everyday because milk plays a great role in their development. At the moment I purchase 1litre of milk everyday at Ksh 30 and is only enough for my 8 month old child. The rest of the money I would spend it on food and good clothing for my family."

"My ambition is to be a dairy farmer who can produce enough milk that can sustain my family and community at large.I currently own one dairy cow which produces 4 litres of milk per day and I sell 3 litres per day for Ksh 90.I want to buy a good breed of freshian dairy cows at ksh 45,000 each. This will produce approximately 10 litres of milk in total per day which would mean an increase in my daily sales and income from Ksh 90 per day to Ksh 300 and it will enable me to buy enough food and school items for my 4 grandchildren that am taking care of. I will then purchase a 3,000 litres tank worth Ksh 30,000 for harvesting enough water to use when there is drought."

"Able to meet my daily needs like food and water without a lot of struggle is the biggest difference in my daily life. This is because I was able to start a motorbike taxi with my transfer. At the moment, I am earning an income of $5 per day through which I am able to meet daily needs more easily."

"The happiest part of my day is in the evening. As a housewife, I spend my whole day doing house chores. I wash the clothes of my family, I clean the compound and I also walk about a total of 6km to fetch water. All these activities drain my energy. In the evening, I get time to relax after the long and tiresome day."

"My life is different than how it would have been had I not received the transfer. This is because I have been able to build a more spacious iron-roofed house for my family. Due to this, I will be harvesting rain water for domestic use and for drinking. Also, I will no longer be worrying on where to get new grass to use in replacing the old ones to avoid my roof from leaking."
