Bendera received a $437 second payment.
"My new goal is to invest in livestock specifically goats. I chose goats over cows because goats can survive without water for a longer time compared to cows. Through this investment, I will be able to cater to my children's education. The aim of investing in goats is that they are cheap to maintain and they have read markets since they are affordable and thus can be converted to monetary value anytime the need arises."

"I will benefit greatly from these transfers, and I can't begin to fathom how my life will be after they are transferred. First, I want to spend $25 to fix my husband's broken welding machine. We may use the money we earn from the welding business to pay for both food and our childrens' school expenses. In addition, I'll spend $30 on each of 4 goats, which will serve as a future investment. With the remaining money, I'll pay my kids' tuition since my daughter Brandon and son Dennis will be joining junior secondary and sinior secondary respectively."

"I have managed to spend my cash transfer on procuring agricultural materials such as fertiliser and seeds..I bought 4 bags of maize which I intend to apply in my maize field in the next farming season. Also bought livestock such as goats which I will be raising outside my house..I will be selling some of the goats in the future inorder to find money for food and other basic needs. Lastly, I bought 4 bags of maize inorder to top up on the few bags that I had and to make sure that my family is secured in terms of food..I saved the other part of the money."

"Originally, our objective was to renovate our home, but later, after consulting with my spouse, we decided to buy some land so that we could expand. We had little room for farming as a result of the compression. I am happy that we were able to buy an acre of land for $400 to use for farming. Hopefully, we shall have a better harvest to feed our family and even extra to sellWe invested $70 in two goats to be raised with the intention of selling some of them later if we needed money instantly, especially because we have a child who will soon join secondary school. I used $40 to make it easier for me to get to my sister's funeral and to pay for additional expenditures when she passed away. I spent $8 on my son's school fees and the remaining money on groceries for my family."

"I used my most recent transfer to procure agricultural materials such as fertiliser and seeds..I bought 4 bags of fertiliser which I will apply in my maize garden since in the past I was not using any fertilizer. Secondly, I bought food i.e. 3 bags of maize which will help my family to be food secured as I did not have enough food. Lastly, I managed to purchase livestock such as goat which I intend on keeping outside my house as it is also a way of generating income in the future."

"Receiving this money means that I will first improve my house by buying iron sheets for the roof and cement for the floor. I need 21 iron sheets and 8 bags of cement. I plan on doing this so that atleast me and my children have a home we are proud of as in good looking and comfortable resting place, free from leaks. Having done that I plan on buying a bicycle so that I can be able to carry my children to the hospital on it whenever they are down with illnesses as well as for any other household endeavours that I might need. Thereafter, I plan on buying 6 goats so that they breed and multiply and I sell them later on at a profit. For me, goats are easy to rear unlike other animals such as pigs so they wouldn't give me a tough time as a woman that's why I've opted for them. I plan on executing these plans a week after receiving the transfers."

"Receiving this money means that I would be able to improve my house by making sure that I buy a bed, mattresse and iron sheets for the roof. I plan on doing this because I feel that my family deserves a decent place we can call home. Thereafter, I plan on buying 3 goats so that they breed and multiply and then they can be a source of income for my HH after the funds are done coming in from GD. I plan on doing this a week after receiving the money."

"Receiving this money means that we'd be able to finish up improving our house. As you've observed our house is still incomplete int terms of glasses for windows, cement for the floor and furniture such as beds and mattresses. We'd buy these items because we've always wanted a comfortable place to sleep and call home and we believe this would be a perfect opportunity for us to finally do that. The other part of the funds would be directed at buying food and livestock. We plan on buying 5 bags of maize for food so that we're sustained until next harvesting season. For livestock we plan on buying 6 goats so that in future after we are done receiving funds we'd sell the goats and buy maize for food for our family. We are unable to put prices om these items for we don't know the current market price of these commodities with the economic status as the cost of living keep rising. Nonetheless, the purchasing of these products will be done a day after receiving the funds."

"All four of us—my husband, my two children, and I—happily live together as a family. Before the transfer, I was unemployed, while my husband primarily relied on doing a casual job at the quarry site for income. His low pay caused us to accrue debts that we could not pay off. I made paying off my debt of $76 for food I had taken for the family a priority. In addition, I spent $140 on four goats. Finally, I spent $40 on food and part of the college enrollment fee. We are very grateful, and I am happy that it will allow me to continue my study in hospitality and hotel management."

"I have wanted to raise livestock since the day I got married. We never owned even one goat as a family, which worried me. I got two goats and a cow with the transfer. I am hopeful that they will start to grow in number over the upcoming year it will be a step in the right direction. My family will consequently experience an increase in the level of our assets. It will help my family supplement their meager income. Currently, my husband and I do not have a steady source of income; he works as a casual worker, and I am a peasant farmer. I will be relieved of the pressure of undertaking strenuous work to make a living."
