Mercy
received a $22 sixteenth payment.
"Access to microfinance loans is one of the very difficulties in my life that I have overcome. I had needed a loan for a long time that would start me off in poultry farming. Because I had a constant source of income form the transfers, for the first time ever, I took a loan in April and this was another dream that came through. I then used it to build a poultry structure that will house my chicken. The house is almost complete. I also bought chicken to add to the number that I had. I am very happy to have managed to start the project because it is a good source of money."

Joyce
received a $22 sixteenth payment.
"I expect my life to change in the next six months in that I hope to have expanded my poultry keeping project by buying more chicken. This in turn will increase my income through the sale of eggs at our local shopping centers. More proceeds from this mean I will be in a more better financial position to take good care of my family by providing enough basic necessities and ultimately an improved lifestyle."

David
received a $22 sixteenth payment.
"The biggest difference in my daily life is having livestock and chicken to keep. I have been using each of the last transfers to buy a goat and 4 chickens. I do this jointly with my wife. I am so glad that I am successful in establishing my farming enterprise. I collect about 10 eggs per day and the money from selling it is used in meeting my daily household needs. As for the goats, they multiply very fast to earn me extra income on selling in the future. Unlike before when I used to rely on menial jobs, the poultry income is meeting my daily needs more easily than before I bought them."

"The biggest difference in my daily life is the daily income that I get from the poultry project that is currently expanding with every transfer that I get. This poultry keeping has become economically viable when I increased the number of chicken in the project using the money I received in the last four months. From the sale of eggs that I collect every day , the kes 3000 that I get has given me the ability to pay school fees for my firstborn who is in a private primary school. I am glad that the venture is enabling me to meet the school fees need comfortably."

"In the next six months, I will have started a grocery business. I will be also a poultry farmer because I already own some good number of chickens bought using the transfers. My sources of income will be more than last year and the year before I started to benefit from GiveDirectly. Because of this, I am going to be a reliable mother in my family."

Agnes
received a $22 sixteenth payment.
"In the last four months, I really had a hard time since I didn't have any reliable source of income unlike nowadays where my projects are really doing well. I thank GiveDirectly for the great changes that they have brought into our lives. Everyone in this village is thanking God for what's happening in their lives. I now have more than 40 chickens which I bought from the transfers I was receiving. I also have a new water tank which I am still paying for in installment terms after obtaining it at a deposit fee. All these have just happened in a period of four months."

"I have normally envisage myself as a large scale poultry farmer and intend to make this a reality thanks to GD cash transfer. Therefore, receiving this money means I'll be able to expand my poultry house and enclosed it using a wire mesh so as to keep my chicken away from the predators and destruction of other people's crops in their farms. I intend also to add more chicken so that it will increase my income from the sale of their products."
