Josia
received a $22 sixteenth payment.
"The biggest difference in my daily life is that l started poultry keeping which is currently doing very well. I am able to sell them when I need to attend to any emergency, as compared to before when l had nothing at hand except to depend on relatives. These chicken are also a source of food to us especially when things are tough and I have nothing to eat. Since I started receiving this money my dress code has really changed too and now I am able to dress decently, as compared to before when I only had very old clothes that one can not wish to put on."

Peter
received a $486 third payment.
"I spent most of my third transfer on starting up a business. I sell chicken. In our neighborhood this business has high demand, I have been observing this business from other places. I could see people flocking in the shops buying chicken and for this reason, I knew that this business will definitely do well. Previously, I used to depend on casual jobs especially construction work which had challenges like the employer delaying with our wages which made life difficult. I am glad that I am my own boss and get money at least on a daily basis."

Erick
received a $22 sixteenth payment.
"The biggest difference in my daily life is about the way I earn more money from the poultry-keeping business. I have been using the money to expand my business by buying more chickens and also in taking care of them. I buy enough feeds that in turn has increased the number of eggs I collect. I am a reliable egg producer to my customers and this enables me to meet my daily household needs."

Nancy
received a $515 second payment.
"I spent part of the recent transfer I received from Give Directly to buy building materials. I am planning to construct a new house since the one I am living in currently is not in good condition. Apart from that, I was also not feeling well during that period. The money came in handy in paying my medical expenses. I spent the remaining amount to buy five chicken for rearing. I opted to buy this chicken so that I can sell them whenever an emergency arises."

"Receiving this money means that I will be able to actualize my dream of being a poultry farmer.Poultry farming does very well in our area due to the warm climate.Venturing into the business requires me to first fence my compound with a suitable fence meant for chicken keeping.I have not been able to do this because of insufficient funds.I will also use a part of the transfers to buy around a hundred young chicks to start with. With the proceeds,I know that my family will have a source of income"

Vincent
received a $22 sixteenth payment.
"Previously I didn't have a reliable source of income and I was idle in most cases. This made life so challenging because being physically challenged I couldn't do most of the activities that could generate income. I'm happy this is not the case anymore because I used the previous transfers to start up a poultry project. I'm proud at the moment I have around 60 chicken and soon I'll start earning more than 1000 KES from them. This will enable me to comfortably meet my family's needs without relying on anyone."
