"The biggest difference in my daily life is that I was able to purchase some of the building materials, with this I am hopeful that when my second transfer arrives I will be able to construct a decent home for my family, this is because the house that we were living in currently was small and grass-thatched, Secondly, I would be able able to harvest rainwater using the iron sheet roof. "Lack of finances is the main challenge. We are farmers depending on farm produce to earn a living. Farming here is seasonal due to poor rains. Sometimes it floods or there are prolonged droughts. This affects farming. I farm vegetable nurseries and sell the seedlings. It is demanding and needs a constant water supply. During dry seasons, we do not get to sell any seedlings or we are forced to look for water to irrigate which is tiresome since our source of water is far."

"Getting food and fresh water for drinking is the biggest challenge I am expiriencing.. We are expiriencing drought spell for over 3 years now and all the water pans have dried. I depend on the business of charcoal burning inorder to put food in the table. There's is no water in our area and we have to hire motorcycle operators to bring water from a distance of 10 kilometres. It costs 100 KES for a 20 litres jerican of water which is very expensive to me because the job I depend on does not give me much than getting a packet of maize flour and it is also very straneous . Sometimes I end up getting food but still goes to bed hungry because of luck of water to cook the food."

"Prolonged drought is the biggest challenge I am facing. It has been 10 months since we receive rains in our area. I presently experience water scarcity and food both for my family and livestock. As per now I have lost 27 cows which was the only hope I had. The little coins I earn of KES 500 from my business(food kiosk ) goes for water only."
