"When I received my second transfer, I had plans of purchasing a boat engine. A new one went at 60 , so being much higher than what we had, we opted for a second-hand one which costed us 60000 KES. We therefore made a down payment of 43000 KES with monthly installments of 5000 KES. That has greatly improved his fishing activities because he can go as far us 50km inside the lake and get as many fish as possible. As a result a lot of income has always been generated using the engine boat as compared to previously when he used a manual boat which could hardly cover 10km."

"I spent my second transfer on purchasing a boat which we thought was the best way to invest a portion of the transfer because the boat will help my spouse conduct his own fishing without necessarily hiring other people's boats. I am glad that currently we can talk of something close to 4000 KES every day not as before when even raising a 1000 KES was just a nightmare. The remaining amount we spent on purchasing a television to help us learn and follow whatever thing that happens in the world."

"The biggest difference in our daily lives is yet to be experienced. However, in 7 months' time, we will harvest fish easily and sell without having sent any person to go fishing in the Lake on our behalf, and within some time my husband and I will have earnings enough to put up a better house. We have always wanted to do this but lacked capital, thank you very much."
