received a $474 initial payment.
"When I withdrew the money, the first thing I thought of was farming. I bought a plowing jembe for KES 9500.00 that would aid me during the farming season. I also bought two cows for KES 26000.00. I also took KES 5000.00 and took my husband to the hospital since he was not feeling well. Thereafter, I decided to construct a local rental house so that they can serve me as an income-generating activity. For this house, I cannot clearly state how much I used but what I am proud of is that the house is now ready and it has a tenant who rented."

"Our new goal is to buy more land and build another house that is made of timber planks. We would like to buy more land so that we can have more space for rearing our cows. We also would like to build another house because the one that we are living in it at the moment is made of mud. Getting good mud for mudding the house has become quite a challenge since it is no longer easily available like before. We hence usually buy some. Achieving the above will not be easy since we do not have the large sum of money that is needed to do so. I usually depend on the sale of milk from my cow to earn a living. The money from the sake usually help me in buying food and household items such as sugar, soap, etc. My husband on the other end is employed as a supervisor in a certain school. The money that he makes usually goes to the payment of school fees for our two children."

"I was busy cutting down trees for my charcoal manufacturing business when I got a phone call from my son. He asked me If I had received my transfer from give directly, I confirmed and saw that I did. We both celebrated in excitement. At the time, he was at work and it was late. Since I needed his help to withdraw the funds, I waited up until the next day when he was available. The first thing I thought of was to purchase a cow but since I had an urgent need of a motorbike as a means of transport, I opted to buy it first."

"When I got married to my husband 7 years ago, there were 2 dairy cattle in the family. Unfortunately, there was an outbreak of diseases which claimed all thus forcing us to purchase milk from the vendors. This is however costly since my family of 6 fully depends on subsistence farming for a living and we have almost nothing to save. I have been yearning to own a dairy cow for food security for my family but finances have been a pitfall. When I receive these transfers, I intend to use KES 30000 to purchase a dairy cow hence I will be glad that my family will have a constant supply of milk as well as generate income."

"Receiving this money means that I will increase my husband's business of household items. This has been the best income activity for my family. On a good day, he brings home about KES 1000 which we spend on taking care of our needs. I will spend about KES 30,000 on this and the rest on improving my home by building a new house at about KES 40,000 and an equal amount on buying two dairy cows."

"The biggest difference in my life today is that I was able to purchase a dairy cow. Due to my old age, I was not able to acquire one since I depend on my children for daily upkeep. In addition to that, I am glad that I was able to clear school fees arrears for my grandson. I am forever grateful for the support that has lifted life to a more comfortable one."

"The message caught me by surprise because I never expected that the money would be send that early in the morning. I was up early that morning to prepare for work when I heard a message notification, I expected it to be a message from a coworker but upon checking I found out that I had received the transfers. I was so happy that I woke my wife up and told her about the good news."

Dama
received a $26 second payment.
"When I received the transfers from the organisation, I decided that I would use most part of it to buy a goat. This is because I wanted to grow my farm by having more farm animals. I would have opted for a cow but they were quite expensive compared to goat. On the other hand the goats were much easier to sell as well. I planned to rear and ensure that the goat produces so that incase of any financial emergency I could sell the goats and get the money. The goat cost me KES 2,500 and I used the remaining balance of KES 500 to purchase a kilogram of sugar and three kilograms of beans."

"Receiving this money means an increased source of income. I am a housewife and my husband works as a house construction person. He seldom gets a job and when lucks comes he gets an approximate wage of KES 250 a day. We, therefore, intend to purchase a dairy cow in which we will be able to sell milk and earn some cash. We intend to spend at most KES 30,000 on the first transfer to own one. This will also make me busy as I have free time doing nothing at home. Having an alternative source of income will be the joy of life because we will cater to the household needs without much struggle."

"The main goal when I receive the transfer is to build a three-roomed house. The one I have is not sufficient for my family of 3 members and when I host visitors. To fulfill this, I am planning to spend KES 40,000 to buy materials, and because I am a masonry I will use my expertise to construct it so that I save on labor.
I will also buy two indigenous cows and an oxen plough to help me cultivate more land and also hire to my neighbors for a fee. This will helps me increase my sources of income and earn me a living.
Once I accomplish it I will be happy because I will be able to host my guests in a separate room from mine and that of children."
