"My mother in law gave me a phone as mine had some technical issues after falling in water. This made me feel loved and I became happy for that."

"My husband's business did well two months ago, he got KES 1000, which we used part of it to purchase two small water tanks of fifty liters each. Accessing clean water in our area is a challenge, we track up to one kilometer to get water. Having this tank is such a relief as I can dedicate a day to fetch water so I won't be going to the river every day. I dedicate one tank to collecting clean rainwater for drinking."

"We have water shortage in this area mainly contributed by prolonged drought. The water source is at a distance of 15minutes walk. I struggle to walk as my knee joint aches after strolling for a short distance. There is piped water running within my compound but I have not been able to trap due to lack of money. It is with great pleasure that upon receiving this cash, I will stand a chance to install a water tap. I will spend 20 000 KES on this matter. Selling water will as well help me economically."

"In the last 6 months, we have been lucky to get sufficient rainfall and this has brought happiness in our lives. Over the past 8 years, we have been receiving minimal rainfall throughout the year but this has changed over the last 6 months. We have been depending on water pans for domestic use which is not safe but now we have clean rainwater for domestic use. We have also started planting crops hoping that we will harvest if the condition favors our region."

"We are a young family, recently blessed with a baby boy. We come from a poor background of 8 sons. It is the vicious cycle of poverty that has affected us. It is devastating and a sad state of affairs. Our family is known for the poverty situation, I feel so much ashamed. We never got a good education because of lack of school fees and our upbringing was so poor, we lacked almost everything. The family land is barely an acre. When it is subdivided each will get 0.1 acres just enough to build a house. The house we are living in once belonged to our parents. It is old and dilapidated, it seeps water during the rainy season which makes it uncomfortable to live in. I am overjoyed that this help has come at the right time. We intend to build a better house, an iron roof of 15. It will cost approximately KES 15000. The remaining amount will go towards the purchase of a dairy cow."

"I have always wanted to have a pleasant house for myself. When my husband died, he left me with the sole responsibility of educating and taking care of my children. Now that I could do that, I want to use the funds to fulfill some wishes that I have in my mind. I have always wanted to own livestock of my own. Upon receiving the funds, I saved KSH 1500 so that I can be able to buy a goat once I receive my next transfer. The goat will be a major step towards planning my future as a livestock framer. Because of the poor state of my health, I cannot work. I have been experiencing waist and legs pains for the second year now. This has made it difficult for me to fetch water and do strenuous house chores. It is because of this that I spent KSH 500 to buy water from water vendors. I then spent the remaining KSH 1000 to buy food. I currently do not have any job and depend on my son. He engages in manual jobs with tiny payments which are not enough to take care of both his family and me. To shoulder this burden, I opted to buy food and share it with the family."

"My desire has always been to have a source of water in my house. Where I can access it without having to walk far away. Tapping it from a nearby source will amount to about 6000 KES, the materials needed will amount to 12000 KES and for labor 6000 KES. This will ease the burden I have of accessing water for my livestock. I have 3 cows and they need about 60 liters of water every day. The distance alone is frustrating not counting the shillings needed to buy it. A jerry can sell for 5 KES. I have thought of this for a long time, I have asked around for the most affordable price to have it done, all I need is the money to kick this off."

"Our area member of the county assembly kick-started a piped water project in our locality. This was in last year December 2021. This gave me so much joy because the hustle we go through when fetching water is almost coming to an end. When the project is completed, I will no longer be walking for almost 2km for water."

"My children school fees payment has not been completed, I am under pressure to get this balance money and I have no idea on how I am going to do this; the house I am in is another problem, my roof is half opened and the water is spoiling my things in this house."

"After spending both the first and the second transfer on all the goals that I had set aside, I am glad that all went through and have brought great transformation in my household. The whole process made me believe that all can be possible and at the moment I am doing everything with an open mind. Currently, I have a new goal to venture into poultry farming as an income source. I had been doing a small scale but the outcome has never been impressive as I had been selling a few eggs at a time. I now have a plan to construct a better chicken coop design with better space even though will limit their stray movement as well as having a designed structure to lay eggs on, waterers and feeders installed, chicken wire all around, corrugated tin roof, and also a raised chicken wire floors that ease cleaning by letting the chicken droppings fall onto the foldable and mobile floor covers. Even though its establishment might be expensive, I am positive that the outcome will be easier to manage and profitable once I usher in all the chickens that have been sleeping in my small kitchen."
