"Looking at the great projects that I have completed within a very short time amazes me a lot. I had been much grateful to see the unique fencing on my compound that has made the rearing of chicken so easier. This project has been a dream come true to me and I am glad to say that this so far has brought the biggest difference in my daily life. I can collect and sell eggs now that cushions me in settling smaller household bills that I was struggling with before."

"I am one person that likes development and I have been for a long time wanting to have livestock for myself. I have mastered the art of rearing different types of livestock since when I was a kid. I have always wanted to have the opportunity to own my livestock and rear them. So when I received the cash I was very happy and I knew I would fulfill my wish of owning my own. I spent KSH 2800 on buying a female goat. In addition, I spent 200 on buying one chicken. I know in several months to come I will have many of these and selling is going to help me raise money to help me in my daily needs."

Kazungu
received a $27 initial payment.
"When I received the money, initially I wanted to start a business of rearing poultry for sell which would manage to sustain me and my family but after trying to do so I found out that they sold one chicken for KES 1000 which was too expensive to me considering I only had KES 3000. So I changed my mind and decided to buy two sacks of maize flour which contained twelve bags that sold for KES 2400 in total. I made this choice because after all my family and I needed to eat because we did not get the opportunity to plant anything this year. The remainder of the money I bought five kilograms of beans and a quarter a kilogram sugar."

"For the longest I have had plans to establish my own business so after receiving the money I decided to venture into the poultry business. I chose poultry business because it if fast growing since the chicks grow quickly if they are fed right and this meant if did it for commercial use then the income would come back fast as well. Therefore I bought ten chicks that I plan to rear which cost me two thousand five hundred kenyan shillings and added an extra five hundred kenyan shillings for the chicken feed."
