Kevin
received a $472 third payment.
"My additional goal in life is to buy a motorcycle so that I can hire someone to be operating it. This will enable me to still earn an income even on the days when I do not have work at the construction sites."

David
received a $502 second payment.
"Running a motorcycle tazi business of my own is the greatest difference in my daily life. I had been working got there's for far too long. I had been making money for my employer that he would save KES 300 per day. I have decided to be saving the same amount for myself on a daily basis. I see this as a big step as having been saving about KES 9000 per month part from the money that I spent on the household's daily needs. This has made my life so good so my family gets their daily needs and I save for a better future for my children."

Janeth
received a $505 second payment.
"At the moment, my life is different than how it would have been had I not received the transfer because I was able to pay the circumcision fee for my son. Even though my husband sent me out of our matrimonial home after we received second transfers, I was able to achieve this on my own. I was able to achieve this using the KES 15000 that he gave me to use as transport and to start my life all over again."

Jumwa
received a $524 initial payment.
"I have been living in a mud house for many years and my plan was to one day renovate it to be a permanent house. I however lacked the financial resources to fulfill this and it was was becoming unstable and even worse whenever it rained. I am now in the process of rebuilding it after I received my transfer. I bought building materials which include bags of cement, blocks and sand to facilitate the renovation. Living in a permanent house is the biggest difference in my daily life."

Maureen
received a $526 initial payment.
"The biggest difference in my daily life after receiving the transfer is the construction of a new house to the completion on a raised ground where we are no longer facing that flooding challenges whenever it rains. I am really thankful and praying for GiveDirectly in any other project they are yet to start in other villages."

Leonard
received a $526 initial payment.
"The biggest difference in my daily life is that I am now a proud owner of a motorcycle. I would not have been able to achieve this at my own cost. Due to this, I have been able to provide for my family on time unlike before when I used to depend on any available casual work. its pay was always low and my family would at time go to bed without taking anything. I was always tired most of the time and I hardly had time for my family or to even work in my farm. I am now glad since I usually have enough time to rest, work on my farm and even bond with my family."

Karen
received a $526 initial payment.
"The biggest difference in my daily life is the construction of a new house. With the current rainy season I am among the lucky few to have a good roof above our heads. The initial hut we had was becoming smaller and smaller every other time especially when we had visitors. Space was not only the problem but also the leaking roof. We are glad that the transfer we received enabled us to construct a bigger and better house which we are now living in."

Reuben
received a $21 twenty-sixth payment.
"My additional goal in life is to start saving some money on a monthly basis through the merry go round group that I joined recently. I will later use this money to buy a motorcycle. I will be using it to provide taxi services in my locality and to ferry my farm produce to the market on time."

Caroly
received a $22 twenty-sixth payment.
"I expect my life to change in the next six months in that I shall have fixed an iron sheet roof and replace the grassed that one by buying building materials every month with the sent transfer. This is because at the moment the leaky grass-thatched roof of my house is in a deplorable condition which has made it risky for our habitation. I also will have paid school fees for my children."

Alphonce
received a $22 twenty-sixth payment.
"Before I started receiving my monthly transfers, I had taken a loan from our table banking group. I had used the loan to buy building materials such as iron sheets, timber and nails which I used in putting up a new house. I was living in a grass thatched house and I felt I needed to upgrade hence I took the risk. I did not know when I will get the money to pay back yet I depend on casual work and motorcycle business as my main source of income. Before I was done with the building, I started building the house, I started receiving my transfers on a monthly basis which I have been using to pay back the loan I took. I am glad am done with the loan through GD transfers. I would not have managed to clear the loan by now on my own."
