"I spent 200USD of my transfer on building a new Iron roofed modern kitchen which everyone is admiring it.This because the one I had, was old, worn out, had leaking grass thatched roof and the walls had fallen off and apart and could fall on us anyhowly and my kids were scared. Because of my security, I had to shift to my single room house which served like a kitchen and bedroom at the same time. I also 80USD on ten chicken layers because it's as a quick source of income to feed my family. I spent 40USD on purchase of latest clothes fashions because initially I would rely on second hand clothes for occasions. I also spent 40USD on a tractor for hire and four packets of maize seeds because initially it was hard to even get money to plough leave alone buying maize seeds. Before, I would depend on my maize meal , and vegetables business and merry go round monthly contribution in order to buy food, and farm inputs one by one until the required amount is attained."

"I normally work as a motorcycle taxi as a casual worker. When I received the transfers I took a motorcycle loan with a down payment of 300 USD from the transfers and repayment of 17.2USD per week. I prefer my own bodaboda because initially I used to work for people who micromanaged me and would fire me up abruptly. Right now, I am flexible because I have my own motorcycle. I also spent 34USD on10 chicken layers because they are a quick source of income. 55USD was spent on two sofa set seats and my house can now accommodate 10 people in one sitting. I spent 15USD on a tractor for hire because it's a common means of cultivation and the soil being clayish it's difficult to use man power. I also spent 20USD on maize meal and household items and the rest on debt repayment."

"I used to spend a lot of time going to fetch water from a buying point where a 20 litre jerrican goes for ksh 5. After buying the water tank and harvesting rain water, I am able to spend time I used to go to feed my cattle and my chicken. As a result of this, milk production has gone up and egg production has also gone up. I am now waiting for electricity to light my house."

"I will be able to have a bigger house of about 3 rooms unlike now when now when it is one roomed. We have been unable to afford to build a bigger one since every penny we got went to our children's school fees. The chicken I bought are all layers and any time we lack anything, I sell the eggs and we can buy sugar or the little things we use at home."

"I spent a bigger portion of the first transfer on buying a wood plane machine for my husband who owns a carpentry workshop. This will boost his business and serve his clients efficiently. I am also running a poultry project from which I normally keep and sell chicken as a source of income. Thus I also took a portion of the money and purchased the indigenous chicken to add to this project. I saved the rest of the money for my children who are currently not in school due to the Covid-19 pandemic. I am planning to pay for their school fees when they resume their studies."

"Receiving this money will help us as a family improve our home by expanding it. The current house that we are staying in is so small especially our bedroom. Our children are all grown and the expanded room shall be used as their bedroom as we have our privacy as the parents. I also intend to use the remaining amount to improve my poultry keeping project by adding more chicken. The idea to improve my poultry keeping project was informed by the fact that we may have surge in needs for our family going forward especially payment of school fees."

I also spent 9USD on two chicken layers as a source of food and income. 65 USD was spent on purchase of better clothing and shoes."
