"Yes.
I do have new goal I n my life and this is because of the funds I received from Give Directly. I did buy a second hand motorcycle. With this motorcycle I can do many things that will be able to uplift my life. Firs I use it to fetch water for my home use and also for the livestock. I live in an area where we experience drought and finding water is very hard and I have to walk for several kilometers to be able to find water. Before I received this cash it was very hectic and tiresome and sometime I would go without water for some few days.
I also do business with the motorcycle and from that I earn cash that I use to settle my family needs. I also bought a sewing machine that I use to sew clothes for other people and it’s also a means for me to get something that will help in catering for the needs of my children and family. Before I used to borrow from my friends or even hire but now that I have mine I will not incur additional costs in doing my business. Generally the cash fro give directly has been able to empower me to have multiple source of income and from this I am able to think out of the box and continue investing more and more so that I do not go back to the situation I was before receiving the cash.
Since receiving the cash my life has changed and I thank Give Directly for their support may god bless you so much."

"I have been working as a motorcycle rider since I got married. My children are now grown up and some of them are already in school. I only earn an average of KES.250 take home after paying the owner of the motorbike. This goes into purchasing food and other basic needs for my children. I am super excited today that my ambitions of doing poultry farming will be realized through GiveDirectly transfers. I plan to spend KES. 40,000 to build a chicken coop, use KES. 30, 000 to buy 200 one-day-old chicks, start-up vaccines, and feeds. I also plan to use the remaining amount to buy stock of food for my family."

received a $496 second payment.
"I spent most of my transfer on my husband's motorcycle, which took a total of KES18000 in repairs and service. This was very important because we do not have available tap water close to us. We always spent approximately KES750 weekly to pay for water transport services offered by other motorcycle taxis. This was very expensive in that at times we would run out of water within the week and we will be forced again to seek the services of the motorcycle taxis. Therefore repairing our motorcycle gave us a very huge relief, we nolonger have to worry about running out of water in the house within the week."

"The money will meant building a house as we are tired of sleeping in an improved temporary house.
We are two in the family, myself and my wife. For us to find money, I work as a driver for a bicycle taxi. On weekly basis I make K2500 per week. The money is later used to busy household expenses such as clothes and food. With such income, I can't manage to build a house. Even if I can try, it will take me 10 years to complete it.
The house that me and wife are currently living is in pathetic condition as we do not sleep properly during rain seas as it leaks alot. The roof is made of grass and we did not manage to buy a plactic cover up for the leakage.
The money will be used to buy iron sheets and to pay for builders, but me and my wife we will be able to mould the bricks and I will be assisting the builder during the process."

Hussein
received a $496 initial payment.
"It was around 8 in the morning when I was heading to my daily hustle when I saw the message notification. Without hesitating I decided to check its content, it was from Segovia Technology. They had debited the first transfer that I had been promised earlier during the enrolment period. At that moment my heart was filled with joy because I knew very well that I would finally achieve what I have yearned to purchase. I even decided to go back home and shared the news with my family members."

"Poverty! I have many problems with little income. I am a charcoal business woman and my husband has no job. I need to pay school fees for my children and feed thm.. Getting food and water is a big challenge in our area. All water pans have dried up and we depend on motorcycle operators to bring water from Bamba town which is more than 20 kilometres away and this commodity is very expensive. Each 20 liters jerican of water costs 100 KES."
