"My wife is a house wife. In the coming years and beyond, I will open for her a groceries shop, which its profits will help us with the family upkeep and for educating our children who are still in Primary SChool. Once the business picks up, I will buy more cows for farming and for producing milk for sale and consumption."

received a $435 second payment.
"I have a family of five. Three of them are in secondary, they are in form two, three and four. Paying their school fees has been the most challenging task in my family and most of the times they have been in and out of the school. I used part of the transfers of kshs 20,000 to pay for their fees balances. I do subsistence farming for a living since I do not have a stable job currently, I used kshs 10,000 to buy fertilizers and to pay casual workers who assisted me in farming. I used the remaining part of the transfers of kshs 20,000 to buy a cow to produce milk for sale and consumption."

John
received a $435 second payment.
"I am glad I spent $220 of my second transfer on a heifer to supplement the other two cows on my farm. I am hopeful that the additional breed will increase milk production in the future and that the sale of their offspring will help pay school fees for my three children, who will soon graduate from secondary school. In addition, I spent the remaining $300 on an initiation ceremony for my second-born son, who was going through the rite of passage. The demands on the ceremony were so great that I had to spend all of the remaining funds on a new suit for him and enough food for all of the visitors who attended. I am grateful that the event was a success and that it ended well after all of the bills for the day had been paid."

Daniel
received a $435 second payment.
"I have two children who are in college first year pursuing education and psychology. In the coming year and beyond, I am hoping to develop a good saving plan to take care of their fees. Once they are done with their education, I will buy a female cow, which if all goes well will produce milk for consumption and sale. In addition, I will start up a small business of selling second hand clothes as this has a high demand in my community. Most of the young people living within my community cannot afford to buy expensive clothes and mostly they prefer second hand clothes, the profits will be taking care of the family basic needs like food and fees for my young girls still in Primary School."

Staley
received a $450 second payment.
"I used the transfers to buy a female cow for kshs 40,000. I decided to buy a female cow as it will produce milk for sale and consumption. Initially I had several cows but unfortunately they died during the drought season. After selling the milk produced, I will use the money to buy more cows as rearing livestock is what I do to earn a living. Getting regular and balanced food has been the most difficult challenge my family has been facing. I used the remaining transfers of kshs 10,000 to stock food for my family of five."
