"I spent my transfer on starting a small retail shop business which has been my source of income. I have been using the profits from the business to invest in farming activities like buying inputs such as hybrid seed and fertilizers. As a result, I got bumper harvest which has helped us because we are eating well and I am able to pay school fees with a lot of ease"

"I can say that my life has changed to an extent because I now have two sources of income unlike when I had only one source of income in the past. I now find it easy taking care of my family especially in terms of paying school fees for my children and my nephew. I employed my sister to work at the butchery and at the end of every month, I pay her her salary which makes her financially independent so she does not have to fully depend on me for financial assistance as she used to do in the past."

"I'm still in school and I haven't paid the school fee for the next term. Therefore, for the next four months, I have a goal of saving the transfers that I will be receiving and use it to clear the next terms' school fees. I would not want to go back to being sent home regularly like before."

"The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer is that I have started poultry keeping project. This project earns me a daily income when I sell eggs at the shopping center. I use the money to meet the daily needs of my family and also to pay part of the school fees for my children in primary school. I used to do casual jobs in the village and the payment was so small to the extent that It could not cater for both the basic needs and at the same time pay school fees for my children. Sometimes we could have two meals a day and my children could be sent home to collect school fees regularly. This is because I could not get the money on time and they were forced to stay at home longer time and this affected their performance. I'm so grateful for the support from GD because it has improved our living standard."

"My additional goal is to save the remaining transfers so that I can use them collectively to pay school fees for my son who is joining form four next year. In his last year of secondary school, I would not want him to be sent home regularly for school fees. This will affect his performance and I know he is a bright boy. I would want him to get the best grades and get a chance to go to a good university and have a quality education."

"After the demise of my husband 17 years ago, Life has been a struggle to me. He left me with six children who were still too young by then. I've struggled alot to meet their needs more so education . Ive sold a larger part of my land which i used to farm initially to pay their school fees. I even ended up engaging in selling illicit brew which landed me in trouble severally times after being arrested by the authorities. The struggle continues since my four children are still in school, two of them in the university and two in secondary school. For me this is the biggest hardship i have faced"

"Receiving this money will enable me to boost my vegetable vending business which i was nearly giving up on due to financial instability after spending all the business money in paying school fees arrears for my four children after being sent home from school earlier this month. I also plan to buy sheep and goats which will act as a long term savings plan since i will be selling some whenever they multiply to take care of school fees and other needs"

"I experienced changes in my life because, for one I was able to pay full school fees for my son for that term, something that I would have never been able to accomplish was it not for the cash transfers from the organization. Secondly, I now have a cow which I have been milking for the last two or so months so I no longer buy milk from vendors as I used to do in the past."
