received a $28 tenth payment.
"I used the funds from the transfer to purchase six goats up until November of last year. After selling six goats, I used the money to buy a dairy cow. I'm going to harvest the cow's milk in a few months and sell it. My objective is to keep spending the money I will be paid on additional goat purchases so that I can eventually turn the goats into cows. When I have a sizable herd of cows, I will be able to sell the milk that the cows produce as a secondary source of income."

"We experience a heavy rainfall last month which was really a boost for us. We depend on rainfed agriculture and when it is dry there are scarce pastures for our cow and so the production of milk had gone down. We have seen an improvement since the rain started. We are now getting 5 liters of milk per day unlike before when we were milking just 2 liters. My young children who loves taking milk had been affected a great deal, they were not happy because milk is their favourite meal yet it was not in plenty as before. Also, we were able to plant vegetables that we have been buying and mark you the cost of living had gone up and we could not afford at times. Life is now better and we are happy."

"I Plan to buy a plot of land at USD 1351 and then the balance of USD 540 WILL help me secure a cow for milking and at least sell milk to cater for basic needs."

"I have a debt of $500, my husband died sometime this month and we borrowed money towards funeral expenses, the owners of the money want their money back and I am wondering what to give them.I am so stressed, I hardly sleep. My life has turned for the worse, life has been unkind to me.I sold the only cow I had to meet the medical expenses. We used a lot of money towards his medication , he had been wasted by cancer and had been undergoing chemotherapy."

"Receiving this money will give me a new lease of life.Sometime last year I started building a timber walled house, I had small money that was not enough and so I have been doing construction bit by bit whenever I get the money. To this end I am yet to do finishing on it. I had hold it's construction because of lack of finances. Some works remain on the floor, ceilings, widows, fittings and furnitures .I am half way glad that the unexpected help from GiveDirectly is here with me. I intend to use the transfer to complete my house to be ready for occupation, God willing before Christmas. I intend to use $500 for the remaining work and possibly use the rest to purchase a dairy cow."

"I have really been looking forward into investing more and growing my farm especially through buying livestock and poultry. I definitely would want to buy a cow but unfortunately they're quite costly and that is why I decided to spend KES 2,800 out of the money I received and buy a goat instead. The balance left was KES 600 which I proceeded to spend it on purchasing three packets of maize flour because at the time we were also struggling in the nutrition department."

"We intend to use the transfer to build a better house, a timber walled and cemented floor. At my age, I am not able to smear the floor of our house with mud and so it is not in good shape and not comfortable to even host guests whenever they come to visit. Our house is old and dilapidated, we have lived in it for more than 30 years. We have never had the means to build a better one, but this help has come at a perfect time and we are glad that finally, we will have a better house. We plan to use $400 for household construction and use the rest of the money to purchase a dairy cow and to seek medication."

"Investing in crop farming is the goal that I have. I intend to save some amount from milk vending to boost it. This will ensure that I can hire a tractor on time to assist me in plowing the farm. Achieving this means that I will produce enough food for the family as well as animal feeds for my dairy cow."

"I raise livestock like goats, cows, chicken and sheep to earn a living although in small quantity. In the coming year and beyond, I will be adding more livestock. Since I still have young children in Primary School, I will be practising subsistence farming like maize, beans, potatoes, cabbages and onions. I will be selling some of the farm produce to get money for my kids school fees. Currently their performance have been affected by them missing classes due to lack of school fees. I am looking forward to have a long term saving plan which will be catering for the school fees till end of college. I will be topping it up with the profits from the groceries shop which I have been running since I got my last transfers."

"I think of this money and I am excited that we will be able to revive our dairy business. My husband and I sell milk but the drought has affected our business. We have lost cattle and only a few farmers have been able to sustain their animals. I will buy a dairy cow with this transfer as I work on buying milk from other farmers to restore my business.
Once my business is up and running, I will renovate my house, buy new iron sheets, and plaster it. My husband and I are old and it would be nice to live in a beautiful, permanent house, not one that pours and wears off after a while from being eaten by termites."
