"I spent part of my first transfer on buying livestock which includes a dairy cow at a total of KES 15 000. This will now serve as the living asset that I will lean on as my security Also I bought some building materials such as iron sheets, building poles, nails, and timber. This was for the construction of a new house specifically for my children who used to seek shelter gorm their friends. In addition, I paid school fees for my four children who are in primary schools. With the remaining amount of money, I bought enough food for my family"

"Long ago I used to own several cows which came handy in milk production and selling them to pay school fees for my 12 children. With time they began dying of mysterious disease with lack of proper treatment, due to finances, until I was left with none. It's been years now living without a cow, forcing me to purchase milk which is quite costly. This also meant I lost a source of income. I, therefore, have to work extra hard or just survive. The biggest hardship is getting finances to start up again and being able to take care of them well."

"The tough economic times have seen me struggle a lot financially. Receiving this money will help me diversify my income. My hair dressing business is not doing so well. Farming is also not reliable due to prolonged drought. I intend to spend approximately 150 USD to buy 4 goats. This will help me pay school fees in future which I have been struggling a lot to get. Goats do well in such a dry climate since they can persevere the dry conditions. I also plan to spend 200 USD to clear school fees arrears and pay next term fees for my son in secondary school."

"The biggest hardship I have faced in my life is when I had to drop out of school when I was in form 3 because my parents could not afford to pay my school fees. It broke my heart to see my friends continue with their education while I had to drop out."

"Receiving this money means improved standard of living for me and my family. This is because I plan to start dairy farming by buying 3 dairy cows at a cost of 45,000 Kenya shillings. This will help me get milk for sale as well as for consumption. The money I will get from the sale of milk will help me buy food, pay school fees among other needs."

"When I was growing up, my father did not have the opportunity to take me to school due to the high school fees charged then. Looking at my home's financial status, I opted to look for any causal job. I was finally employed as a shamba boy. As well, I used to feed dairy cows of my beloved employer. This made me have the urge and ambition to own cows in the future. For a long time, since I started to raise my family, I have tried to find means and ways to buy at least a single cow but all has been in vain. This has been due to my inability to get a life-long sustainable job, considering that I am illiterate. So, receiving this money will mean to fulfill my dream of owning a herd of cows. I will buy 6 cows, at a cost of 15000 Kenya Shilling. Also, I'll be able to construct a byre for my cows to ensure their safety and healthy."
