"We are a young family that depends primarily on casual job for survival. To be exact, we rely on my husband's carpentry job to acquire food, raise school fees for our children and accomplish other developmental projects. Unfortunately, the relatively little income that we get is insufficient to suffice all our needs. In that regard, we have been uncertain whether our daughter who is currently in Grade 11 would continue pursuing her studies since carpentry jobs have become scarce. Hence, we are certain that our daughter will have ample time to study and complete her course once we receive this money. Nothing other than educating our children makes us proud as a family."

"The biggest hardship I have faced in life is raising school fees for my children. I usually struggle to sustain my family since profits from my grocery business is too small. Also, gains from our subsistence farming is barely enough for us. In that regard, I was forced to sell the only cow we had to raise the needed school fees when my first child joined Grade 9 last year, 2020. Precisely, I have always been worried about educating my children without a helping hand or a reliable source of income."

"I am really grateful for the blessing of money to come. I will be able to build a nice house. I will also buy livestocks. The money will also help us to pay school fees for our child who is in standard 8 now. I will also buy clothes and beddings for my family."

"My spouse's death came as a blow when he left me with 4 young children. Although it's been 5 years but I still feel the impact, because I have to provide for them single handedly. My charcoal vending job is not so productive because there are no more trees and instead I have to dig stumps. The much I get is around 2000 shillings a month from this activity. It is therefore difficult to meet our needs especially food, clothing and school fees. I can therefore say financial instability is my biggest hardship."

"The biggest hardship we always face is shortage of food. Since we depend on subsistence farming,we still end up selling most of it to cover day to day expenses such as school fees, groceries and others. Hence, we do not have adequate income to cover those expenses and we sell the maize available."

"This money means a sigh of relief for me and my household in reagrds to the problems that we have been facing for a long time. I have been struggling with school fees for my nursery school going kids which is MKW1,200. This predicament also applies to my primary school going children. For the past six months , the whole family including myself has been sleeping on the living room as most of the rooms leak heavily during rains. Hence, I shall use this money to do do renovations and make sure that the rest goes towards starting a business which will ensure a stable income for the family."

"My life is now different because through the transfers I have already purchased building materials for a putting up a better and more spacious house. The transfers have also enabled me to buy a dairy cow which I had desired to have one for the past two years but couldn't afford. Also the one I had died and was overwhelmed by school fees burdens. I am also grateful because family is more happier and healthier than before. Previously I used to stress up because my job as a capernter wouldn't suffice to feed and school my kids at the same time."

"My life is now different because the transfers have enabled me built a modern timber walled house within the shortest time possible. I had desired to built a modern for long but couldn't because the school fees burden was quite demanding. With this house, my wife's workload of smearing a muddy wall in order to improve it's appearance is no more because we are ageing."
