"My life is different from how it would have been becasue I was able to clear school fees for my children on time. One was on his final year in college and I had no idea where I would acquire the money for him not to go back to school. I am glad the ney came in good time and settled the arrears. He is now back in school ad studying without any disturbances like before. To add to that, I managed to renovate my hose whose condition was not pleasing at all. I had to plaster all the walls and floor as well and it is now decent and permanent. I used to worry maybe someday it would collapse because of the rains but GiveDiectly came in hand."

"I spent part of my second transfer in paying school fees for my children who are in primary school. They had just resumed from a long holiday and the money came in good time. Also, I bought some building materials such as iron sheets, building poles, timber, and ropes. This was for the construction of a new house because the previous one was in critical condition. With the remaining amount of money, I am using it to buy food for the family."

"I spent part of my second transfer on purchasing some building materials such as iron sheets, building poles, nails, and some timber. This was for the construction of a new house and a small business house. Initially, I used to sleep under a small temporary house that was leaking every rainy season. Also with the business house, I will start a business if selling some petrol to since it's of high demand. With the remaing amount, I cleared school fees for my children to avoid them being sent home frequently. With the remaining amount, bought enough foodstuffs for my family."

"As a family that only relies on farming as our main livelihood, we face a lot of financial struggles if we have not sold our produce. We rely on the proceeds from selling maize and groundnuts to use for basic necessities, school fees for the children and even buy more food. From the problems we face as a family, this money will reduce the pressures that comes with shortage of money. The priority is to make sure that my kids a are educated and I will make sure that some money goes towards their education for the next three terms. From there,we shall buy some bags of maize to top up on what we have since maize is chap during this harvesting period. In addition, we shall also do some finishings such as cementing the house and plaster inside the house too."

"My life is different from how it would have been in so many ways ever since GiveDirectly came into my life. First, I am now in a position to take at least two meals in a day, unlike before whereby I used to take a single meal or go without. This has made me a happy parent especially when I see my children glow and becoming healthier. They used to be malnutrition because they couldn't get enough nutritious meals. Also through the transfers, I managed to pay the school fees for my children and they are now studying comfortably since some had opted to drop out of school because of the huge fees balance."

In addition, I spent $163 of the remaining amount to pay for the school fees of my child who dumb and is in a special school. For the rest of the cash, I bought food for my family."

I will invest the remaining $400 in buying livestock; one heifer @$200 and 7 sheep for $210."
