"The biggest difference I can see since receiving the transfers is the structure I put up as a home for the livestock I have been rearing. I have goats, chickens, and turkeys that will enable running a successful business once they are mature enough. My son does not have any school fees balance and that makes me so happy as he will go back to school once schools open."

"I am planning to venture into poultry which does well and is marketable in our region. Having a good source of income to depend on has been my goal in our poverty-stricken region. Through the transfer, I was able to buy three chickens to start with. I am planning to do the same with the subsequent monthly transfers. I dropped out of high school in 2019 due to financial constraints and I have been surviving on casual jobs with meagre pay since then. My next goal is to enrol at a technical college to undertake a course in driving. I hope by starting the project, it will fund my course early next year. Doing the course will also help me to secure employment and be self-reliant."

"Previously, I only had one free-range local chicken. I had always wanted to try raising chicken farming, but I could not because I am a motorcycle rider. My earnings are insufficient to meet my family's basic needs of clothing and food. As a result, when my transfer was confirmed, I considered establishing a chicken farming venture at home. I used all of my money to buy 15 chicks for KES 3,000. I plan to raise them and then sell them once they are completely grown. After selling all of my hens before the end of the year, I am hoping to start raising goats."

"I got home at 8 pm. After I finished up with my errands, I went to bed at around 10 pm. I then woke up to breastfeed my child and minutes later I got a message. Upon checking, I saw that I had received funds from give directly. I was very delighted and filled with so much gratitude towards the organization for fulfilling the promise they made. Since I wished to grow my business, I went out to purchase some poultry feed for the 36 chickens I rear for a living."

"The difference is as my objectives and goals changed because of my financial constraints, I have a plan on venturing livestock business and would like to specialise on the chicken and goats rearing because they reproduce easily and it is not so hard to feed and maintain them.I plan to use the revenue earned from my business and the rest of the funds to enroll in a nursing school which is my initial goal and career."

"The biggest difference in my daily life will be the upgrade of my living standard. My house has been so cold because one of the ironsheet was actually blown by a strong wind a while back.My husband has not been able to replace the ironsheet because his work as a motorcycle rider earns him between KES 800 and 1200 on a good day which is barely enough especially now that it's a dry season. His income has not been consistent hence its been a struggle to feed us let alone repairing our roof.I plan to use the fund to repair my roof because my small child has been suffering from the coldness experienced at night and also invest more on goat farming and chicken business in order to help my husband with some of the financial obligations like educating our son."

"I have a son who recently cleared his fourth form, and he wanted to enroll in a computer packages course as he waited for the results of his national examination. This was a good thought for him since he will be occupied which will let him not succumb to peer pressure from his idle age mates. I, therefore, paid KES 2000 for his registration fee, and I am glad he is yet to begin his classes. I still have KES 1000 that I will use tomorrow being a market day to purchase some chicken for rearing. Currently, I do not have any source of income but rely on my spouse. I am hopeful that if all goes well then the chicken will be a good source of income in the future once they will have multiplied."

"My priority before the transfer was to obtain a goat. However, due to the weight of other obligations, I was forced to surrender that plan for the time being. Instead, I decided to purchase two hens. This was the most significant accomplishment I achieved as a result of the transfer. My chances of increasing an income stream rise as the chickens multiply."
