Kadzo
received a $25 fourteenth payment.
"My goal is to start livestock rearing as a means of livelihood to reduce the financial burdens in my household. I am incredibly grateful for the previous cash transfers, as they have allowed me to acquire three goats and four chickens. By owning this livestock, I will accumulate enough wealth that will help my family's living conditions and support my children's education. It brings me great joy to envision them studying without any interruptions due to a lack of school fees."

Wilson
received a $25 tenth payment.
"Recent years have seen a severe shortage of jobs and informal employment, which is made worse by the lack of formal education beyond a certain level. In order to improve my prospects of finding employment, I joined and have been attending a driving school in Mariakani town for the past two months. About $20 of the May transfer has helped me cater for transportation to and from school. I also purchased three chicken for raising for $15. These will be useful if I need quick cash because I can always sell the chicken when it is old enough or the eggs it produces."

Neema
received a tenth payment.
"My long-term goal is to raise goats in my own herd. To do this, I am raising chickens right now and intend to keep buying more of them, which I will then sell once they are fully grown. The money will go toward the purchase of a goat. Goats thrive in our region and are rarely affected by the constantly shifting weather. Additionally, I want to expand my grocery business in order to raise revenue from it."

Hamisi
received a $25 tenth payment.
"My parents cannot afford my younger brother's school fees, and I have to step in and assist. I paid his school fees which amounted to $30. Additionally, they are struggling to provide books and other school requirements since he started his secondary education. He is currently in Form 3, and as a result of all this he stays with me.
In March, we spent $4 on food. I also had plans to rear chickens, sell them and accumulate enough funds to buy goats. So, I spent $15 to buy chicken. My ultimate goal is to establish a large-scale goat farming operation, followed by the purchase of cows. I'm sure will help me generate income which will serve as capital for starting a business. My other plan involves cultivating and selling vegetables to potential buyers.
In April, I allocated $5 for my brother's school fees and $14 for food. We purchased enough food for the household which is consisting of five members. This was to sustain us for a week.
In May, I decided to kick-start my livestock keeping venture, I invested $25 in acquiring a goat, in addition to allocating $9 for food expenses."

Changawa
received a $25 tenth payment.
"Having overcome the grueling drought season, I'm filled with a sense of relief, believing that our food scarcity problems are finally behind us. The struggles we faced were arduous, but I'm optimistic about the future. As the crops begin to flourish, my determination to till and harvest intensifies. I plan to sell the abundant harvest and use the proceeds to expand my livestock, particularly by adding more chickens and goats to the four I currently possess. These animals symbolize not only a source of income but also our aspirations for a thriving farmstead. With resolute dedication, I am confident in overcoming past challenges and creating a prosperous future for my family and our community."

"I am filled with immense excitement and gratitude as my life undergoes a remarkable transformation. With every transfer, I seize the opportunity to invest in a new calf, expanding our cherished livestock at home. This not only signifies growth but also holds the promise of breeding and multiplying our precious animals. As I envision a brighter future, I am diligently planning to sell a portion of our livestock, utilizing the proceeds to expand our flock of chickens beyond the current six. Through these strategic endeavors, I am driven to ensure a comfortable life for my beloved family and elevate our living standards to new heights."

Juliet
received a $25 tenth payment.
"I am married to a hardworking doctor, and we both strive to support our family. I, too, put in significant effort because my siblings rely on my income. As soon as I receive my salary, it seems to be spent immediately due to our pressing needs. Currently, I am working towards expanding my flock of 15 chickens and adding more goats to the existing 6. This plan aims to provide us with a safety net so that when our family faces challenges, we can readily sell the animals and fulfill our requirements."

Sharlet
received a $25 fourteenth payment.
"During the past three months, I have utilized cash transfers primarily on livestock, clothes, and food. Out of the total of $102 that I received over this period, I allocated $30 to purchase a goat and $20 to acquire four chickens. I believe that as these animals reproduce, they will contribute to increasing my wealth, as I can sell them and use the proceeds to support the household's needs. Currently, I rely on my father, who works at a food point, to provide for our family. Aside from myself, he carries the burden of providing for my five siblings, all of whom are still in school. To alleviate some of this burden and not be an additional source of dependency, I aim to establish a source of wealth that can contribute to the household's needs, which is through livestock keeping. The remaining funds were used to purchase clothes and shoes since I had only a few of them. I am happy to have acquired more clothing than I had before. This has prevented me from repeatedly wearing the same clothes, which in turn helps to preserve their quality."

Philister
received a $25 tenth payment.
"The transfer that I received was of great help. I have a family of 6, and with the current economic times, fulfilling their needs had been quite a challenge because the business that so far had been of help was on the verge of collapsing and my husband on the other hand did also not have a reliable source of income. Focussing on the future, I decided to spend the transfers on something that would be of help to my family in the long run, and I, therefore, decided to buy 3 chicken for rearing worth $21 and spent the remaining amount of $13 on boosting my business, I felt so grateful to GiveDireclty for supporting me this far."

Lilian
received a $25 tenth payment.
"I have always wanted to rear chicken. For the first time, I bought 3 hens and 2 cockerels each costing kshs.200. That was a total of kshs.1000. The whole idea was to have the chicken hatch and increase in number. I got 15 chicks and shortly after I sold the hens and the cockerels at kshs.500 each. I then topped-up the amount and bought a goat at kshs.3500. I later sold another hen at kshs.500 and paid my child's school fees. My child had been returned home due to fees arrears. I'm so happy and I felt relieved that atleast I could afford to pay the amount. I'm currently doing farming, where I'm have planted maize, vegetables and green grams. I bought maize seeds worth kshs.2000 planting them on 2 acres piece of land. In addition to these, I bought vegetable seeds and green grams seeds worth kshs.400. This has really helped my household, since we never run short of food at home. I'm glad that I have found solution to my daily struggles. Life has become bearable and my household is at peace."
