Mary
received a $324 third payment.
"Given that I have a just started a new business, looking ahead, one of my dreams is to stabilize it enough, save some money and hopefully buy a cow as a family investment. I recognize the invaluable contribution that a cow can make to my livelihood. It would not only provide a sustainable source of income through the sale of milk and dairy products but also enhance my ability to meet the needs of my customers. With the unconditional transfers serving as a stepping stone, I am determined to save diligently and work towards purchasing at least one cow in the next year or more."

"Starting my investment is what has eaten up my mind over the years. This is because, I lack the capital for initiating the project. Imagine taking care of cows for my neighbour yet the only pay is the provision of a shelter! I have always considered poverty to be the worst factor in my life. My intention once I receive this money is to ensure I break this chain of poverty. I intend to invest in livestock keeping to act as my long-term project. Since I have the experience of taking care of livestock, this will be my easiest job. I plan to buy 5 goats and 2 indigenous cows for the start. This will cost me utmost $400 of my money. Since goats multiply fast, I am optimistic of good profit within a short time. On the other hand, I will spend the remaining amount to cater for my current challenges of food insecurity, decent shelter and school fees for my children. Hence, this is generally what receiving this money means to me."

After thaat, I purchased some home materials materials that I needed on $45 for me to be able sleep well on a comfortable matress, and eat on good plates. In addition to that, I bought a pig $40 and a cow on $285 for me to possess long term assets and capable to produce manure for my cultivation land which leads to sufficient harvest."

Lilian
received a $25 tenth payment.
"I'm planning and hopeful that I will be able to buy cows and more goats. I believe they will be a source of income and this will bring financial freedom. I'm also planning to go to college. I have always had interest in beauty and hairdressing, and my main aim would to learn and perfect the skills so that soon I can open a business. Learning would cost me kshs.1500 every month and I will have to be in school for at least three months.
I'm equally focusing on educating my children to the highest level of education. Currently the eldest child is the only in school since the others haven't reached the school going age. I'm hopeful that we will be able to continue paying school fees without any struggles"

"I have a goal to purchase two cows that can assist me with various farming activities. These cows will not only be valuable for plowing tasks, but I also plan to generate additional income by renting them out to others in need. Owning these cows will provide me with a means to enhance my farming productivity and potentially expand my income streams. I recognize the potential benefits that these cows can bring to my agricultural endeavors, and I am eager to work towards acquiring them to fulfill my goal. I trust that the cash transfers will make this dream a reality for me."

"I have big dreams and aspirations. I am confident that I will make the most out of life and create a better future for my family and I. One of the goals is to purchase a piece of land in Sironko Town council priced at $662, construct a house on it at $265 where I will relocate with my family as it's free from landslides.
In addition to acquiring the land, I have sights on purchasing a cow at $397. I believe that owning a cow will provide me with a stable source of income and help me become self-sufficient , ensuring that I have a source of potential opportunities for dairy-related products. This will contribute to my financial stability
Furthermore, I am eager to start a small business in retailing maize flour. I have identified a market need in my community, and I believe that I can provide a high-quality product at an affordable price through using $529 into this venture, I am confident that I will build a successful and sustainable business."
