"My life is currently different from before because I no longer struggle to find school fees for my children and daily spending. We have enough supply of milk from our 4 cows since I ensured enough supply of feeds. I used to graze the cows along the road which yielded in low productivity. I can now say that I'm relaxed and happier."

"I used part of the money I received from GiveDirectly both to purchase school requirement for my daughte and to pay for the whole term's school fee for my daughter who just joined secondary school. Part of the money I used to buy a cow for rearing and as a way of investment for the future. Currently, I buy milk which is costly and at times we go without milk tea, so I believe after the cow has given birth I'll be able to have enough milk for family consumption. Aside from that, I have plans of selling the calf in the future in order to raise my children's school fee in case I won't be able to raise school fee by then. I also bought two sacks of corn for family consumption because I didn't get enough harvest in the last planting season that could last us for the whole year. My children too didn't have decent clothing because they had outgrown most of their clothing, so I also bought them clothing."

"I spent part of my second transfer to buy a milk producing cow. I saw it fit to have an additional cow in my homestead to enable me be self reliant from then going forward. I also spent part of my second transfer in land leasing. Before Give directly transfers came, i depended a lot on casual labour to raise my family and even pay school fees for my children. As we speak, i have a maize plantation ready for harvest in the next few weeks. Give directly has enabled me to be self reliant by giving me an opportunity to own my own assets."

"I spend my second transfer on buying two oxen for fattening so as to resell and to buy cows. Cows will reproduce and multiply to make a large herd. Eventually, I will sell the cows and buy a piece of land. Moreover, I bought three sacs of maize because we had none in our store following the maize lethal necrosis disease that destroyed our crops. Additionally, I bought two goats that are meant to multiply so that I sell to gain more income for topping up the money for buying more pieces of land."

"Ever since I had been having a desire that someday I would own a cow in my compound since having them in our community is such great pride since you have some assets to lean on in case of any emergencies. This was made possible when Give Directly came to our village and gave us the transfers. To this far, this is the biggest difference the transfer has brought into my daily life."

"I started constructing a house with my first transfer and I left it half way, as funds were not enough. My house has had a leaking roof for a while. My husband does not make enough money to be able to build us a house. He has to cater for school fees for our children and also feed the family. This forced us to bear with the situation of a leaking roof in an old house. I am happy we can now have a new home with no leaks. I have invested most of the second transfer in completion of the house. I also hope that I will be left with some cash from the construction, so that I can purchase a goat for agriculture. I hope the goat I buy can procreate and give me more goats, which I can sell in future and buy a cow. This will assist me to generate wealth and live a better life with my family."
