"I have a daughter who has just cleared her last exams in primary and soon is transitioning to high school. This is my current focus and goal, to see her complete her secondary school education God willing. I am working so hard to see complete this and share her success in her education. This I am hoping to achieve in the next four months as time is also moving so fast."

"My ambition has been to ensure that my children obtain high quality education which will enable them to get good job and be independent in life. I shall therefore spend this money to educate them since I always look to them with sigh of hope. They have the potential to do well in their academics."

"Struggling to meet my family's daily needs is the biggest hardship I have faced in my life.My husband and I have been jobless ever since we got married we now have 5 children to feed, clothe and even cater for their education. We solely rely on jobs like weeding, cultivating and planting crops on other people's farms and sometimes we do our own small scale farming, all these are usually affected by drought which is a common phenomenon here thus not a reliable source of income."

"My greatest desire is to ensure that my children get the best education. I had initially planned to start a zero grazing unit and to start a poultry business in my farm but could not due to financial constraints. Instead, I only managed to buy 2 cows. Receiving this money will enable me to actualize my plans and in turn, achieve my desire since I will have more income."

"The hard economic times has really made life hard for my household.Fending for my family has really proofed to be difficult undertaking owing to the fact that we solely depend on inconsistent casual jobs (repairing plastics, weeding and digging people's farms)to keep us moving.None of my family member is in any gainful employment. Thus, this has actually made it hard to raise fees for our children.Education has of late become expensive.Raising school fees for my children continues to worry me."

"I had depended on my husband for provision but since he passed on, I have single handedly raised my children without any meaningful employment. Food, clothing and education are basic needs that to date I still struggle to provide. I mostly rely on farming to feed my family but the rains have not been consistent for the past two years. Lack of financial resources has been my biggest hardship in life. "

"I want to start a business of my own. I want to get a shop where I can sell men and ladies shoes. I can also hire someone to run the shop as I continue with my casual jobs. This will change my life, since i will have some assurance that of some profits at the end of the month, as compared to casual jobs that are not very reliable.
Secondly, I want to invest in my sisters' and daughters' education. My sister has just cleared her Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (K.C.P.E) this month. I want her to go to secondary school next year. My daughter is also about to start nursery school. I want to prepare inadvance. When they are educated they can be able to help each other and the family in future.
Lastly, I would like shift from Mathare. I am born and raised here. I have not been able to shift with the money that I have been making, but now with GiveDirectlys' money I will be able to shift. I would also want some privacy too, I have been living close to my sisters, now I want to leave for them to be independent too."

"My top concern is my children. Am worried about how and whether they will go to school and have a better education so that in future they can get jobs or even have stable business of their own. Secondly, achieving my ambitions in my worry because without meeting my goals there will be no change in my life and hence my children won't have the bright future I want for them. Lastly, am worried about my marriage. I don't know whether we will be together forever because sometimes we always have issues that am not able to handle. "

"My top concern is health crisis because once one's health is not good then they are not able to provide and even support their families. Some sickness also requires alot of money that become even a problem to manage. Secondly, not being able to provide for my family and giving them the best education always worries me so much. Nowadays without education life is very hard and there's no future. Lastly, getting daily subsistence and meeting daily needs is also my worry because it means am not responsible enough as a father and I will have failed as the household head. "

I will also us the money to help pay for my sisters secondary education. I will have chipped in in helping my parents that way and she can get better education.
Last but not least I will use this money to pay out debt and loan. "
