How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My current life is different from how it was four months ago in that I can now invite relatives in my home with the confidence that they will spend the night in my house and not at the neighibours. I have a house that can comfortably accomodate them plus my children. The change I have also seen in my children's life. They are able to dress well. They are clean and can be seen whenever people are after I managed to buy them new clothes using the money I receieved from GiveDirectly.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I have a daughter who has just cleared her last exams in primary and soon is transitioning to high school. This is my current focus and goal, to see her complete her secondary school education God willing. I am working so hard to see complete this and share her success in her education. This I am hoping to achieve in the next four months as time is also moving so fast.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
When you do not have money, you long to have a lot of things, but given that you cannot afford, the only thing you can do is to sit and pray for a miracle to happen which never comes. I had a very small house, too squeezed to comfortably fit my family and even allow me to host visitors. I had to request neighbours to host my visitors, something some of my neighbours never taken so kindly and at some point, relatives could not visit me frequently. I wanted them around and close to me, spend the night under my roof whenever they visited, this is why I built a new house when I received GiveDirectly transfers. Spacious enough, now I have two houses. My children have a place, very comfortable where they can sleep and my visitors too can spend the nights with me in my compound, under my roof. What a relief. The same house now have comfortable seats with cushions. The house is also neat. GiveDirectly came to my rescue.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I am not certain my daughter shall have joined high school then, but I am hopeful that this is the change I will see. Seeing her off in the morning and welcoming her back from school in the evening. It shall have changed my life as I will be able to work more harder and see that this comes to a reality.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life since I started receiving the money is that I feel financially relieved because I was able to construct a kitchen. Being a widow it's so challenging meeting all the household needs.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I expect to have bought a cow as a way of investment for the future. I also expect to have bought a solar lump to give my children easy time while they are studying without any worries that they might run out of paraffin as it is currently.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I now have a kitchen which I wouldn't have if didn't receive money from GiveDirectly. I'm able to meet most of my households needs much easier because I'm getting better income from the business. This is how different my life is had I not received the money from GiveDirectly.
Do you have any new goals that you didn't have before receiving the transfer?
I have a new hgoal of buying livestock as away of investment. I have been having this goal but since I couldn't afford it I didn't know I would achieve it but now that I'm expecting money from GD I believe I will achieve it.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I had ever faced in life, was when I fell sick for one month and I could not seek for proper medication since I did not have money. As the breadwinner in my household, my children were forced to starve since nobody could provide for their daily needs.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day, is in the morning when I wake up alive. I always go to bed very tired, and waking up to see a new day gives me more hope in life.
What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to spend my transfer on constructing a small house where my children will be sleeping. I am currently spending with them in the same house which is small in size.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
The achievement I am proudest of in life, is building up my savings to a reasonable amount, which I spent on cementing the floor of my house. My house is currently improved and better, unlike before when I was living in a bad and uncomfortable house.
