Before receiving my transfer, my main goal was to further the studies of my daughter. I spent most of my transfer on my three children's college education, which cost a total of KES 18000 because they are almost done with their studies and I did not want them to be distracted or their education disrupted by the lack of school fees and accumulation of arrears. It was also a personal pledge I made to myself that I will give my all to ensure my children's dreams of completing their studies are fulfilled. However, I am hopeful and optimistic that with their good education, I will be able to count on them to help me address the challenges I will face in the future since they will be employed. Therefore, I am so grateful and hopeful. I also spent KES 15000 on starting my business that I had planned all along, which was buying and selling of charcoal. I rented a roadside stall where I store the charcoal I buy in sacks and sell them willing buyers who visit my stall. I did this because it will be my regular and sustainable source of income that I believe will be able to make me some money that will keep me going on the long term.
