How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My family was in dire poverty and food was a problem. I did not know where i would source food and other basic needs as there are no factories where i would work and earn money here. Thanks to Givedirectly because with the transfer i have now bought 3 bags of maize for food which will cover my family for a good number of months. In preparation for growing season, i have procured 2 bags of fertilizer to apply to crops inorder to increase yield this year. Therefore i confirm that my life is now different than before
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion Givedirectly did well on reaching out to almost every household here. I am saying this because many of us in this area are marginalised and would not manage to sustain our own lives so with this initiative we have seen a tremendous transition from poverty. Therefore i applaud Givedirectly for such a welcome and life changing programme and urge this to be extended to other places
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent my transfer on 3 bags of maize for food at MK8000 per 50kg bag, 1 bag of cement at MK9500 for maintaing my house, 2bags of fertilizer at MK33000 per 50 kg bag for applying crops during growing season and saved some amount for other uses in the near future.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I am an old woman who leaves with a grand daughter, we, as you can see have been trying to mend our house year after year so it could look like a home, but our income could not allow us to have full iron sheets house. All we have is this big space all around. seeing this opportunity means I will be able to use the funds renovate if not just build a bigger beautiful home with bed and mattress inside, that is what my heart long desires. Life is not all about breathing but leaving I as well. I will also buy fertilizer for my small vegetable farm...
What is the happiest part of your day?
So long as I am eating, I am winning in being contented citizen. In short I am happy as long as food is available. And good food makes me more happy.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Seeing loved ones gone is something that I fail to get use to, I have lost many loved onse and the feeling is still the same.
