In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
1:Give Directly improve quality life; For instance in my village majority of the people are seems to be in a complete state of physical and mental well-being because they have used their transfers well. According to me Give Directly are doing a tremendous job let them continue with the same spirit (I have not seen any disadvantage )
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I bought a welding machine to my husband, because previously he was renting one but I decided to purchase for him because the cost of owning one is better than renting. Some home renovation projects for example roof leaks , crack in the foundation are some problems that I took care of to keep my family safe and prevent from catastrophic or total loss of the home.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
As a teacher, I spend most days with my students. I was in class one morning when I heard a beep on my phone. I became curious and when I checked, I could not believe my eyes. I had received KES 55,000 from GiveDirectly. I could not wait to pursue the dreams that I had put on hold for lack of money.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Since receiving this cash transfer, I have renewed hope for my dreams. I went to college to study to be a teacher, but could not obtain my certificate because I had school fees arrears. I decided to seek employment as a tutor, but I only earn KES 5,000 a month, and could not afford to clear the arrears. This situation crushed my hope in life. This transfer, however, has changed all that. I have settled any debts and arrears I had and acquired all documentation I need to pursue my profession. I'm so thankful to GD.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
My biggest dream in life has been to become a professional teacher. Even though I went to college and completed the coursework, I could not obtain my certificate because I had school fees arrears, which made me sad. So I spent KES 15,000 to clear the same. I then applied for my Teachers Service Commission identification number, which cost me KES 4,000. And because we have had to buy milk at KES 90 a day, I decided to buy a heifer worth KES 20,000 which will soon be supplying my family with milk.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money will mean a lot to me and my family. I am a teacher but not certified because I do not have my college certificate. We had planned with my husband that once we get money, we will clear my fee arrears of KES 15000 so that I can get my certificate and in turn use it to get my employment number. My job provides for us since my husband is on and off jobs and so I cannot save enough money to clear it. I plan to buy a cow with KES 25000 because we do not own one. We buy milk at KES 900 per month which is costly but I have to buy since I have two little children who should drink milk daily.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the afternoon because I get to sit down with my fellow teachers and talk about issues that I face.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I have faced in my life is food security. We do subsistence farming so that we can get food to be used at home. This has been affected by the erratic rains that we receive here and so the produce that we get cannot sustain us since it is less. We therefore resort to buying food such as maize and vegetables which is expensive.
