How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My first and second money was used for Zinc, nails and kept the balance money. I have not developed a new goal because the raining season is closer and I live across the tambo river. I need to buy all of my house materials sooner to cross with everything before the end of April or the 15 of May.I was able to buy additional Zinc and paid contractors to saw my roofing plant.I am grateful for the transfer from GiveDirectly. This is the very first time receiving such help in my community. No NGO have ever crossed the river beside GiveDirectly. We appreciate you. My life is now better than before.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I appreciate the opportunity from GiveDirectly. This money brought joy in my entire family life. Because since in my community, my livelihood had been making farm and working for people as daily hire just to sent my children to school and get their daily meals. GiveDirectly process was fair in my community.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My primary priority at the moment is to complete my house project. Initially, after I received my previous transfer, I started the construction of a 4 bedroom apartment. My current house is very old and small. Living here has become uncomfortable for my family and I. Therefore, I have purchased few bundles of zinc along with 1 carton of nails and few pieces of plank to complete my house project. GD is a huge blessing to me and my family.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
From my own point of view, GiveDirectly has been very honest in delivering cash to poor people like us. Sometimes it appears like a dream for me to have received such amount of money as grant. I am glad to be part of this unique project. I see nothing that GiveDirectly is not doing quite well.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
My main priority was to complete my house project and moved in with my family. Thus, when I received my transfer, I bought 2 more bundles of zinc for ($21,000LD) to roof my house. I also used portion of my transfer to buy 1 carton of mixed nails and zinc nails. My life has become stress free and I am so much delighted about this program.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
While I was on covention in Tompoe Town, I received my transfer from GiveDirectly. I was so glad and grateful for such unique opportunity. I knew that with this transfer, I could purchase enough building materials to complete my house project. This which I couldn't have done due to low income has now become a possibility because of GD's financial assistance. I feel so relieved having benefited from this grant provided me by GiveDirectly.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
My family and I never had a decent place to stay. Our house was very old and the roof needed to be replaced. Meanwhile, there was no enough money to get the roof replaced. Nonetheless, GiveDirectly transfer has allowed me fulfilled my dreams. Being able to change the old tatch on my house to new zinc has been the biggest difference in my daily life since I started receiving transfer from GD.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
The roof on my house is very old. When it rains, my entire house becomes very cold and wet from leakages. In doing so, I've decided to change the old tatch on my house to new zinc but I could not achieve this because of limited finances. Therefore, when I received my transfer from GiveDirectly, I bought 3 bundles of zinc for $34,500LD. I also purchased 1 carton of zinc nails to roof my house. Glory to God and thanks to GD for transforming my life through their great financial assistance.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I'm currently a widow and I'm getting older each day so my major concern now is to build a new house for me and my children and to provide food for my children and send them to school. So, once I get this transfer from Givedirectly those are things I'm going to do.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I have not been happy over anything since the death of my husband because he was the major source for providing food for me and my children, however; hearing the news from Givedirectly today makes me happy because I want to build my house and buy enough food for my children.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Getting food for me and my children to eat each day is a challenge for us now because my husband died, and he was the major source for providing food for us from our farm and making palm oil. Since his death getting food for my children is difficult for us because I'm not making farm anymore.
