What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
Receiving this money means that I will be able to buy iron sheets for my house. I was told by the builder that I need 24 iron sheets for my house so that's what I would buy first after getting this cash just so I have a comfortable sleeping space. Then I will go on and buy 4 bags of fertilizer for my maize field so that atleast I have a bumper harvest next year for food security. I also plan on using this money to pay for my grandchildren's education ,as you know these days we pay for school fund. For the two of them it will be 2000 kwacha a term. I would do this for I know it is the right investment to help them achieve their dreams. Sanudi wants to become a primary school teacher while Saint wants to be a police officer.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I stay with these 2 grandchildren of mine and they have been my pride and joy in the last 6 months. This is because they both aced their tests in school and are advancing to the next classes. Their names are Sanudi and Saint. Sanudi is progressing from standard 6 to 7 while Saint from 5 to 6. This happened earlier this month. This brings me joy for I believe that if they excel at their studies they have a better chance of a better life.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My only challenge to date is my house. This house leaks when it rains, I have always wanted to have it iron sheets for the roof but I don't have the financial muscle to help me achieve that wish. Whenever I remember the discomfort in rainy seasons in my house it brings me down for I feel helpless as there's nowhere I see that I would get the money from to improve my roof.
