How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I invested my transfers in livestock especially oxen and a full set of ox-plough. This initiative has enabled me cultivate on time and large scale. I do believe that this year, I will have plenty of harvest . Previously, I had to wait for people to finish their ploughing activities then borrow their oxen to plough but this came later on after the rains have passed. When it came to the worst, I could till my fields with a hand hoe which consumed time and drained a lot of my energy. Lastly, I owned a very small piece of land which couldn't accomodate my farming plans. Therefore, these transfers prompted me to hire more land to farm on.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has elevated my status because I lived a demeaning life. The transfers have really impacted most lives positively. There's improved housing in my community, feeding and trading courtesy of the transfers. I haven't seen anything wrong done by GiveDirectly.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I bought an ox and hired land using this transfer.
