How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I have new goals, all thanks to this transfer. First and foremost, I'm going to build a concrete zinc house, something which never crossed my mind because obviously I wasn't capacitated to do so. I've lived in a thatch house all my life and to a larger extent was satisfied with it. This transfer has made me realize I'm above that, I can do better for myself and my family. In addition, I'm now into buying and trading of rice and baking flour to sustain me and my family now and long after the cash transfer program from GiveDirectly.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has given us a new life, improved our decision making and empowered us to do well by ourselves and family. I can't think of anything GiveDirectly is not doing well but if I'll say, it's saddening that the workers don't accept our tokens of gratitude. I love to show gratitude when someone does something for me but they wouldn't even accept water neither other tokens I've offered them.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I started a new business from my most recent, something very rare in my community. I'm now selling Rice and flour by cups and kilo. To crown it all, I bought more bundles of zinc to add to the ones I already have in preparation for my new house project.
