How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I have been doing farming all my life. Being a farmer to where I am is very stressful. We do physical farm work. During harvest time, we take the produce for our farms to local market to sell. The money we get from that sale is not much to cater to all of my family needs and send all of my children to school. Before receiving payments, I could only afford to pay few of my children tuition. The rest stayed at home because I could not afford their tuition. My house has not been in a good condition. The roof is tarsh. During rainy season it leaks because rats put holes in the tarsh. I have been hoping to build a new house. Due to lack of money I have not been able to do so. I was so excited when I received my payment. Hopefully, our lives will improve for the best.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly does not do anything wrongly. It has done so much good for us a town people. It has changed our lives for the best. We are so excited for this opportunity.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I was so excited when I received my payment. Being enrolled in this program is a dream come true. I used some of my money to buy a bundle of zinc and some other building materials. I also bought a tin of gas for contractors that will do the project. I used rest of my transfer to complete my children tuition payment. I am so happy that I got enrolled in this program.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
The house my family lives in now is roofed with taches, whenever it rains and the taches get wet, the house begins to leak. When we are sucessful and get the transfer from GiveDirectly, we will renovate the house and change the roofed to zinc so that we can have a comfortable living condition.

I am a powersaw operator. Now days not many people are want to pay the required amount whenever ever they use my machine. For this reason, my wife and I have to cut palm so as to have small money and feed the house which is not enough to even send our children to school. With that, our biggest challenge now is the means to get money for the children school fees.
