What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
As a mother of seven wonderful children, receiving these funds will be an incredible blessing for me and my family. Meeting the needs of all my children is a huge responsibility and can sometimes feel overwhelming for both me and my husband. This financial support will really ease the burden on our shoulders. I have a clear plan for how I'll use the funds. $350 will go towards my kids' education, $265 will be allocated for home expenses, and the remaining amount will be used to purchase three goats, which will provide additional support for our family.
What is the happiest part of your day?
As a mother of 7 children, nothing brings me more joy than the delightful blessing of receiving 3 huge sacks, each weighing 90kg, of maize. This unexpected windfall has significantly alleviated the burden of constantly searching for maize flour to cook for my beloved children. It feels like a miracle, as the last time we experienced such a bountiful harvest was way back in 2022. Given the size of my family, we typically end up spending a significant amount on purchasing 2 to 3kgs of maize flour daily just to sustain ourselves. The rainfall during October, November, and December has truly been a godsend, bringing immeasurable happiness to my dear family.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
As a mother of seven children, my biggest challenge lies in the struggle to afford the school fees required for my children's education. Despite my husband being a hardworking plumber and my own efforts, we still find it difficult to meet the financial demands of our children's education. Each term, we are faced with the daunting task of coming up with over $750 to cover the educational costs for our children - one in college, two in secondary school, and four in primary school. This ongoing financial strain has had a significant impact on our way of life, forcing us to constantly devise new strategies to make ends meet. As a result, my personal development has been put on hold as I try to juggle our family's financial responsibilities with other pressing needs.
