How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Before Give Directly we had no furniture in my newly built house. We had struggle to build a ironed roofed house but was incomplete as we run short of resources before completion. Now I am happy that I have good seats and table. Also I have fixed widows for my house. I also bought a cow to add to one which we had. Now we have enough milk for use at home and we sell some which earn us some income.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
To me GD is Haven sent as this organization came to our homes and enrolled us to the project. The enrollment process was so transparent and each household in our village benefited. There was nothing which which I observe which is not good about the organization.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
The second transfer which I received from GiveDirectly I spend part of it on food. I bought a few sacks of maize for consumption and a sack of rice. This was because we had no food in store for the family. The remaining portion I spend on buying some bedding and clothing. I saved some which I would spend on emergency expenditure.
