How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than if I had not received cash transfer from GiveDirectly in that, I have acquired a plot of land that I intend to construct my home. Before I acquired a plot of land, we were staying in a very crowded place with a lot of moral decay and family wrangles among households. I am happy because that will soon be history.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly had done well in proper community engagement before the transfer is sent. This enlightens the community before money is sent in order to minimize risks of theft by fraud stars. I do not see what GiveDirectly had failed to do well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second cash transfer worth UGX 1,000,000 for completing payment of a plot of land to build my home. The balance of UGX 632,000, I spent it on buying a solar panel in order to provide light, a radio, bed sheets, clothes, food and I paid tuition for my children.
