How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
To date, my life is different in that, I am happy because my household is food secure. I used GiveDirectly cash transfer for starting construction of my house other than selling food. Previously, I used to sell more of household food for solving family problems like building, leaving my household food insecure.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well through giving unconditional cash transfers that have supported various households to solve their problems like inadequate housing. GiveDirectly field officers should use proper investigative skills rather than relying on the neighbours who could be having their own differences to deny others opportunity to benefit.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second cash transfer worth UGX 1,400,000 for buying iron sheets for roofing my house that I started constructing with GIveDirectly's support. The balance of UGX 232,000, I spent it on feeding the family.
