How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is now different as compared to the past as I now have beddings and mattress,,I am able to sleep comfortably in my house. I will be able to build a new house in the coming months and I now have more kitchen utensils such as plates, spoons and pots.. Lastly, with the money that I have saved, I will be able to purchase fertilizer hence I will have enough food.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I feel like the provision of unconditional cash is a good thing that Givedirectly does it helps in making a house independent and being able to make one's own choices..For instance with the money I was able to buy food which has been a major burden. The other thing that Givedirectly does well is that it provides the cash to each and every household whether they have cash or not as long as they are part of the village. Lastly, givedirectly provides phones and simcards to every household in the village..This helps one to be able to communicate with relatives who lives in distant villages.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
She used her second cash transfer to buy land for farming purposes..She also bought 20 iron sheets which will be used when building her new house. She then saved some of the money so that it can be used in purchasing fertilizer during the next rainy season.. The other saved money will be used to pay labourers who will be working in her farm and for purchasing little things at home like salt and soap.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received the transfers I was filled with enjoy. Like I just couldnt believe this had happened to me.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference this has made in my daily life is that I got to fix my house and bought some furniture, you would not believe what my house used to look like. It was so bad that I would not allow myself to have any visitors even when I was sick and some friends would insisted on coming to see me I would not allow it because I was too ashamed of the way I was living. Now I have fixed my house and bought furniture, l I even sleep on a mattress I am still amazed at how this feeling is. And I also have enough food for my family, I truly believe that the money Givedirectly is giving us is enough for people like me who had nothing.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent the transfers on food because I really did not have any maize to sustain the family for a long time. Bougth a mattress and furniture and for my children I have managed to buy them clothes and uniforms, also paid school fees.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money really means so much to me,I'm so much excited as a single mother of 4 i always struggle to find food for my family.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is during noon hours because thats when i eat my first meal of the day with my children and this makes me so happy.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship is lack of financial help,i always struggle to search for money to buy food and other basic needs,i do this by going up to the mountains to search for firewood so that i can sell and buy food but this is really hard as a woman i always find it challenging and risky to go up there all by my self but if i don't it means i will suffer with hunger.
