How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I m planning to compete for my house project. I just bought my last bundles of zinc. I also paid some gentlemen to build my house. I'm also thinking about starting a new business. I just pay my two kids' tuition for this year. I also bought some schools material.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Givedirectly is doing great things for me and my family. with give directly transfers, I'm about to have a new house with zinc. my children are in school. our daily meal has now improved because of the transfer. givedirectly is doing great things for us the poor people of Liberia.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
A huge of my transfer was spent on my house project. some were also spent on my children's schooling. I also bought two bundles of zinc to add to the previous one that I bought from the first transfer. However, I'm doing a little business now that is helping me now.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I have been hustling very hard to earn enough money and complete my house project. It was almost impossible for me to realize my dream due to very limited income received from selling cassava and edoes. However, when I received my transfer from GiveDirectly, I bought 2 bundles of zinc, 1 carton of nails and 4 bags of cement to complete my house project and move in.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Everything that GiveDirectly has done so far has been upright. The idea of not accepting favor of any kind from us but are passionate in reaching out to poor people like us is very rare. I am very amazed by GD's undertakings and I see nothing that GiveDirectly is not doing quite well.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
My main goal was to complete my house and move in. In doing so, I bought 3 bundles of zinc for $30,600LD. Portion of my transfer received recently was also used to purchase 1 carton of nails for roofing. Furthermore, I bought 4 bags of cement to put floor and plaster the walls of my house. The balance money was used as transportation of materials and compensation for contractors.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was at home when my transfer came but did not know that I had been sent a transfer till I went to the place we usually get connected to the network to make a call. As soon as I arrived at the place, I received a mobile money message notification on my phone. When I read it, it was the mobile money message from GiveDirectly that I have been waiting to see. Happiness was mine that whole day.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Being able to pay my children's school fees without any balance is the biggest difference in my daily life since I started recieving payments from GiveDirectly. In addition, buying zinc to roof my house is makes me feel relieved of cutting thatch everytime to replace the old ones. Moreover we have enough food to eat these days.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Living in a house with zinc roof has been a serious challenge for me. The walls at the back of my house is bit by bit falling every day from the leakages on the roof of the house. I therefore bought three bundles of zinc with portion of my recent transfer. I than spend the balance on my children's education. The transfer came at the time when I thinking about going to borrow money to pay my children's balance school fees.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
My plan is to used some of the money to change the thatch ontop the house to zinc and pay children school fees.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the last six months, it was in june (2021)that I got really happy, because I needed 2000LD to get my children progress report, and my brother really did well by sending me the money unexpectedly.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The major hardship I'm faced with now is money. The house we live in leaks alot during the rainy season and the entire family becomes uncomfortable to sleep because the beds gets wet.
