How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I only worked on the plans I previously had before receiving transfers from Give Directly.
I have been meaning to buy a piece of land, and a motorcycle that Give Directly made it possible for me.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I would like to congratulate Give Directly for entrusting us with cash and this has been a blessing to many since people's lives have changed for the better ever since we enrolled to the organisation.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
It was around 8.30am when I was leaving for work.I heard a notification message in my phone and upon checking it was a message bearing the good news from Givedirectly.Since I was still within our home compound I had to came back to the house to inform my wife who was so excited on receiving the news.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life is the growth of my eggs business. With improved storage space and also a trolley I use for delivery has seen me through great profit margins which were unexpected. I thank Give directly for this great support.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
For more that two years now, I had been running an egg business in a nearby town that had been doing well despite some few challenges.I had always wanted to improve on the storage space of the eggs and also buy a big trolley that I would use to supply but the eggs but due to financial constrains I couldn't afford one.With Kshs.19,000 I added more stock, built a spacious storage and also bought a trolley that would carry about 700 eggs per day unlike the one I had which I used to carry 200 eggs per day.I am happy that my business has grown tremendously with a profit margin of Kshs.8,000 from 2,000 per day.With Kshs 18,000 I used to purchase two calves which I added to my livestock for domestic purposes.With Kshs.10,000 I purchased some construction materials for kitchen since we didn't have which will serve as cooking place and also partioned to get a space to keep my chicken.With the remaining amount used to buy clothes and food for my family who have been of great support in all my strides.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I dropped out of school 9 years ago due to cerebral malaria.After getting well, I started hawking eggs in the nearest town and I have been making a living out of it. My ambition to to expand my business and I plan on buying two other egg trolleys at KES 12,000 each and employing two people to help me.This will increase my sales from 150 eggs to 450 eggs per day on a normal day at the same time my profits will triple from KES 1,500 to KES 4,500 per day. I will then be able to provide all the needs for my family and open up a second hand clothes business for my wife.
What is the happiest part of your day?
We wake up as early 3.00AM to boil eggs for sale, then I go pack and display ready for customers at 6.00 AM which I close business depending on the sales. The happiest part of my day is in the evening when I have already sold all the stock knowing that I have achieved my target and made a profit out of it.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Dropping out of secondary school in form 3 due to sickness it the biggest hardship I have gone through in my life. Growing up, I had the desire to learn up to University level and become a teacher. Unfortunately my dreams did not come to pass when I got cerebral malaria which became chronic and made me drop out of school. I have never goten out of it and it always makes me feel bad about not finishing school.
