The biggest difference in my daily life is that my children have been able to study with minimal interruption as it had been before. This would not have been possible had it not have been for GD. With my paltry income from subsistence farming and casual jobs and business, meeting all the family needs has been challenging for me. Both daily household needs are my priority thus, I spend much of my income leaving me with little to spend on my children's education. I am now glad since I can concentrate on other income-generating activities whenever I get money because I paid my children fee. I am so happy to see study since I believe upon completing their studies they will have better lives and will be in a better position to give back to us.

In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well in uplifting our lives which were miserable before enrollment. We have been able to provide for our families effectively, purchasing livestock as assets and most importantly, building better iron-roofed houses thus enjoying good shelter. To me, GiveDirectly is organized, firm and fair on their duties and more so I love their culture of giving the recipients a chance to decide on what to spend money on.

I spent a large portion of the second transfer to purchase building materials which include iron sheets, nails and building poles in order to build a new house. My intention was to build a new decent and spacious house to live in with my family comfortably. I have been living in a small house that was in a bad state and due to lack of resources, I was not able to renovate it or build a new one. I am grateful to GiveDirectly because their financial support has enabled me to acquire building materials which if I was to buy them at my own cost, then I wouldn't have afforded. I am happy to have completed my house construction and currently living in a decent house comfortably. I spent the remaining amount to cater for the needs of my household and other expenses.
