Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment when I received my cash transfer I was so happy as I saw this as a means to ending some of the challenges that I have been facing.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life since I started receiving these payments is that in the past I only ate once a day and sometimes I slept on an empty stomach but with this cash, I have never slept on an empty stomach and I am able to eat very healthy and nutritious foods.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I bought agricultural materials such as fertiliser..I managed to procure 3 bags of fertiliser with an aim of promoting maize growth as well as boosting the fertility of my soil. Secondly, with my cash transfer I decided to top up on the amount of food that I had inside the house so I bought 4 bags of maize..Since I have a small family, I feel the maize that I bought will be enough untill the end of the year. Lastly I bought livestock such as goats and I saved part of the transfer with an intention of buying basic stuff such as soap, sugar as well as salt.

What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
If I am to get this money, I will buy a goat and food for my family. I believe the goat will reproduce and that will help me in future.
What is the happiest part of your day?
There has t been anything that has brought joy to my family. We are struggling, everyday we live is a challenge conquered.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Being a widow, I face problems with providing for my grandchildren. I live with them because their mother passed away so they only have me. For the older ones, they go out to find money to help out with household needs.
