What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I bought a cow because the one I had,had died. I renovated a house that I was unable to renovate before and i wanted to do it for my son. I also gave capital to my child who wanted to start a small business
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
We were so poor and GD came at the right time when we needed it and We were so happy for waht it has done and there is nothing i see that it could do better because for me everything was good
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I am old widow but I have 2 children who need to be taken care of and my accomplishment is to see them having their wives. I will do this by attending Saving groups that will help me to get what I want and what they want

What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent my transfer on renovation that cost me 200 $, bought food worth 35 $, a mattress for 40 $, clothes worth 45 $ and paid 12 $ for health insurance. My house had no doors and no windows but mostly needed a renovation. I was able to do that and I plan on finishing off the activities when I receive LS2.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I was very poor before receiving LS1. The harvest had not been good in our sector and we were all in need of food, we did not have clothes and had stopped thinking of projects and plans due to extreme poverty. All thanks to GD, I was able to buy what I needed and renovated my house. I am planning on starting a farming project once I receive LS2.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I have a piece of land at home that my husband and I use to grow crops. It was a peaceful normal working day when my husband, child and I heard an SMS notification alert. My child was the first to check and he immediately let us know GD had sent the first transfer. Not only were we happy but we could also hear laughters and screams of joy in our neighborhood. The Mobile Money agents were also notified that our village received their transfer and went door to door withdrawing money.The first thing that I thought of was renovating my house and adding doors and windows. I thank GD all of that was possible.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I have a challenge of living as a widower because when I go to the farm, I see others working together and it makes me feel bad.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the past few days, I got some money from my saving group and I bought sorghum to make beer from it for sale and it helped me to get the money I used during the Christmas and New Year celebration.
What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
In the first transfer, I will support my first son to finish the house he is building by buying for him the doors of150$ and the windows of 25$ because he will get married soon.In the second transfer, I plan to buy a cow of 200$. Moreover, I will buy food to eat for 50$ and buy a pig of 40$. The remaining, I will put them in my saving group.
