We didn't have light, mattress, clothes but now we have got everything.GD changed history in our sector because we are not hungry anymore. Everything that GD has done is good
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I live with mental disability but I wish to buy a cow with God's help so that I will have manure and milk for my children

What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
When I received the first half of the transfer, I bought some land for 200 $, a mattress worth 30 $, clothes for me and my child worth 25 $ and food that cost 16 $. I had always dreamed of having my own land. I plan on growing crops on that field and selling those crops for money.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
First of all, I want to thank GD for enrolling me even after knowing that I have a mental disability and always on tablets. Getting a living from a rented land was very difficult and sometimes I came home with nothing. I will now be able to cultivate on my own field and benefit from every outcome. My child and I are very happy because we also started eating better.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was working in a field that is just down from my house when I heard a message ringtone from my phone. I went to my child who is educated and is able to read texts and he told me I had received my first GD transfer. I was so thrilled and had a lot of ideas on how I would spend the money. Few moments later, a Mobile Money agent who was riding a bike came to our neighborhood and did not hesitate to come home and make the withdrawal. I bought some land, a mattress, clothes for my kid and some food.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My greatest challenge is having a mental disorder, I have to take medication every day and go to the hospital every month to be able to control my sickness. I am not capable of reaching to my development because the small money i work for i use it in my hospital bills and i can't be able to use it and have a normal life of my own.
Another challenge i have is that i don't have enough land to cultivate, i have to rent a land from others and I don't have any livestock of my own , which makes me ask some fertiliser from my neighbours to be able to get what to use.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I have been able to get my medication on time and we have not suffered from malaria recently, because the place we live in is very cold we often suffer from it but recently it has been good we are all healthy.
I have been able to get clients from my small business as well which has brought happiness to me, what i do is knitting and nowadays I have been able to sell enough to buy myself clothes for me and for my son Moise and my daughter Nadia and this has brought a smile on their face.
What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
The first Installment i want to renovate my house and build a good latrine for us and I also plan to buy beds and matress for me and my children and some clothes and food to eat.
The second installment i plan to buy a cow for $300 to give me fertiliser and I will also buy food to eat and buy metal sheet for our house and the balance i will save it.
Receiving this money means helping me reach to where i couldn't, because it will help me live better and have fertiliser without needing to ask from my neighbours and this will help me support well my children in the future.
