What does receiving this money mean to you?
If I'm successful to receive this cash transfer from GiveDirectly, I will use some of the money to build a house on the land I bought and use the balance to support my children in school which will bring me so much. The house I live in is owned by my cousin Sam Slobert and we live happily together as a family but I'm a grown woman, I have my own family which I'm taking care of, I'm not happy living in the family house all the time, I need to have my own house where my family and I will stay. My husband and I make rice farms to sustain the family. The proceeds we get from the farm is used for our consumption. Am also engaged in the charcoal business for the past three years now, the money I earn from the charcoal last year, I used to buy land that cost fifteen thousand Liberian Dollars (15,000) LD. since then I have not been able to raise money to build a house.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the last six months, what has brought me joy is when the house I was in broke down in September 2021 and my cousin Sam Slobert give me a room in his house to stayed, it brought me so much happiness because I was homeless and I had no where to go but he helped me with place for my family and I to stay.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I'm facing now is money. Even though my husband and I make rice farms to sustain the family, The proceeds we get from the farm is used for our consumption.
