How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Everything that I own now is attributed to GiveDirectly. The cash transfers facilitated the construction of two roomed house which is now at the roofing level. Before I received the cash transfers, I used to depend entirely on manual labour and cash handouts from relatives. The cash transfers have saved me from this embarrassment.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly does well to send people cash transfers to spend in whatever they choose. On the other hand, I do not see any fault that GiveDirectly might have done.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second cash transfer to purchase iron sheets, cement, bricks, sand for completing the house. I bought bedding, utensils, and food.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily is that, I have enough food to feed my family. In the past, I used to sell the little food we could get from the small piece of land; in order to get income for meeting family needs like health.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received the transfer, I was overwhelmed with joy. This is because, I lacked a lot of household items like utensils, beddings among others which needed money to be bought.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I have spent my first transfer to buy a cow worth Ugx450000, building materials such as bricks and sand worth Ugx683000. In addition, I bought household items like a mattress, bed sheets and utensils worth Ugx167000. I now have a balance of Ugx400000 that I intend to use for the construction of the house.
