Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The cash transfer was sent at the time when my husband was sick needed urgent medical attention. He was mentally incapacitated and his state was deteriorating every single day. I did not have any financial support at that time. However when I received the cash transfer, I sought medical attention for him and he is now recovering. I am very grateful to GiveDirectly for the cash transfer.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I heard the message tone buzz on my phone and I called up my neighbour who read it for me. At that moment I felt very happy and relieved because I was in a fix.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent part of the first cash transfer to pay medical bills worth UGX 400000. I purchased clothes worth UGX 100000. I am planning to hire a farm land with part of the remaining cash transfer.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
My plan is to spend this transfers for completing the house. I build iron-roofed house but due to insufficient money, my household members had to occupy it like that. The house has cracks and any serious wind may blow it down. I will repair the cracks , plaster and cement it's floor. This will provide strong and descent accommodation for my household members to stay hence less endangering their lives.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of the day is afternoon especially after lunch hours. Iam able to listen stories from my children and this makes me feel at being loved This has acted as a stress relieving factor in my life.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face is my sickness. My spouse has under gone various treatments but there is no sign of change in his health. This has become costly and we have even tried to seek the intervention of God's healing but all in vein. This has caused hunger in my family since almost every item is sold to get money for rescuing his life.
