Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was so grateful for the transfer I received. It came at the time I needed it most. I was very excited the moment I received my transfer.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The money has brought joy and happiness to my life. I didn't receive a coupon for fertilizer subsidy this year, I could have struggled to buy fertilizer on my own. My life has been simplified with the transfer I received because I will be able to buy some bags of fertilizer. There's also a great change coming when I replace the grass thatched roof with iron sheets bought with the transfer. I couldn't have bought iron sheets on my own.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
My main focus is to increase food production this year. When I received my first transfer, I invested much in agriculture such that I hired labor and bought some farm inputs such as maize seeds, herbicides and hoes. I have also saved part of the money to buy 2 bags of fertilizer. The transfer also found me at the right time when I had no food. So I bought 4 bags of maize for food processing. I also used the money to buy 20 iron sheets. I am planning to replace the grass thatched roof with iron sheets probably when I receive my second transfer.
