What did you spend your third transfer on?
When I received my third transfer, I plastered the walls and floor of my main house with sand and cement. I decided to plaster it since I am too old to walk long distance to search for clay and cow dung for smearing.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than it would have been if I never received transfer from Give Directly in that I have managed to see my 2 children through their secondary education successfully without relying on loans from the financial institutions and therefore I am debt-free. Again. I have acquired a better house where we live more comfortably as opposed to the former one which was very dusty.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my own opinion, what Give Directly does well is that it sends money to individuals as opposed to groups, however, I would plead you consider adding more money since we haven't achieved all of our dreams. We have realized that the amount was never enough.

What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer on paying back a 10,000 KES debt i had, bought a cow that will soon be providing me with milk, steel windows and door for my house(to enhance fresh air circulation and the security of the house) and spent the rest of the money on food.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my life is feeling at peace knowing that i owe no one and having enhanced the security of my house through steel door .

What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
My plan is to use my transfer in paying college fees for my daughter who finished form four but is yet to join college due to lack of money and use the remaining amount to build another house.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
The achievement I'm proudest of is having educated my first born child through secondary school, I'm a widow and the journey has not been easy.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship is on ensuring my daughter is able to continue with her education, I relay on farming and in some cases work in other people's farm for some pay but still I'm not able to get enough to take her to college.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the morning when I'm attending to my vegetables in my farm, I grow rice and traditional vegetables which I sell in our local market.
